I have been researching all of my information for a sister named Sarah. I have found that Thayendanegea had a half sister name "Christina" but she died very young. He had a brother Jacob and he also died young. That is why I can only find continous information on Joseph "Thayendanegea" Molly (Mary was her other name).

Nichus Brant(1690-1754)adopted and named Joseph and Mary (aka Molly) from the bible. Nichus had four children but I have information on just one. Christopher Brant who was known as "Little Kris" (1754-1840).
Nichus was married to a Shawnee chief's daughter. As for the other three there are no records on. They may have died young or joined up with the Shawnees where records were not kept.

Hi Terry, I love that name "Owandah." Do you know the name of Joseph and Molly's father? Where would I find more info on this family? My connection is through Maria Burnham who married Barton Farr. Maria's parents were Chauncey Burnham and Catherine Dockstader, a daughter of John.

I received an e-mail from someone who mentioned a possible daughter of Joseph named Christina had married a John Dockstader. Do his name enter into your info anywhere? I know that he fought with Joseph and was given 19,000 acres of land now called the Dockstader Tract near Dunnville, Ontario. I have seen references to his being related to Joseph but nothing concrete. I'm going to the National Archives in the next week and going to check with Indian Affairs and see what they have on him. My name is Patricia Komondy-Brant, my husband, Ronald Alan Komondy-Brant is the fourth great-grandson of Joseph Brant (Thayendanegea). I have some info on this family. Joseph's (Thayendagega's) father's name was Peter Tehonwaghkwangeraghkwa, this was Joseph's birth father. His step father was Nickus Brant (Sagayouquaroughton).

I am so mixed up on the parents of Joseph Brant, There are so many different ones listed , even on these message boards. I'm so glad to get your version. Do you have any siblings listed for Joseph and Molly? Supposedly Sarah, a sister to Joseph, md John Dockstader. Their daughter , Catherine Dockstader was my gr gr gr grandmother.
Catherine Dockstader md 1st Chauncey Burnham, 2nd his brother Lyman Burnham and 3rd Oliver Burnham. Was this the father of Lyman or brother? I have a lot of loose ends and hopefully you will be able to help me with them. If I can offer anything just let me know.

In my research Thayendanegea and Molly had sibblings but they died at a young age. I did not find the person that you were talking about. I think that the person you are looking for is a grandaughter of Thayendaegea or Molly, or even a different relative. I'll look up my info again and update you later.

This is all very puzzling. Documents I have received from Canadian Archives says that John Dockstader md Joseph Brants sister and their daughter, Catherine md a Burnham (Chauncey, Lyman and Oliver). I am descended through Catherine Dockstader and Chauncey Burnham's daughter Maria Burnham who md Barton Farr and lived in Haldimand Co, Ontario, Canada.Their son Jerome Farr, his son Adelbert Farr, his son Daniel Farr. Daniel Farr was my Dad.
Jerome and his wife Amoretta Briggs and children left Canada and moved to northern Minnesota the latter part of 1870's and settled in Becker CoII appreciate your help in getting my ancestors sorted out.
