Descendants of Ezekiel Byrom

g_kuschnereit  (View posts) Posted: 10 Jan 2000 6:56PM GMT
My maternal great-grandparents were Edward Pinckney and Sernettie (Holt) Byrom. My grandfather was Thomas Jefferson Byrom. I have a copy of the Byrom family history prepared by Henry Harbin Byrom of Fort Worth, Texas, in 1940. I also have a Bible printed in 1822 which I believe to be the Byrom family Bible as well as an old photograph of Sernettie. I would love to hear from other Byroms interested. You may email me at LuTeaPrin@AOL.com.

Hi, Jim,

I am not sure how to answer your question. I know grandpa's family was from England and I believe from Lincolnshire. Please email me at LuTeaPrin@AOL.com so that we can talk further.
Thanks,
Gary

Hi Gary
I don't know of any Byrom's in the Lincolnshire area but I will double check. Are you sure it was Lincolnshire and not Lancashire.

In Lancashire there is a tiny hamlet (very small village) were there is a Byrom House and Byrom Road. This is the area the Byrom name originated in England

Regards

Jim

It was Lancashire, not Lincolnshire!

Dear Jim,

Here goes...my 6th great grandfather and the 1st generation in America was Henry Byrom, who was born about 1670 in Lancashire, England of the family of Byrom of Byrom. It is believed that his father was Peter Byrom of Parr, who died in August 1695 and buried on August 9, 1695 in Winwick Parish Church, Lancashire, the old family church of the Byroms of Byrom. With his brother Peter Byrom, he called himself of Parr, lancashire, and made a bond of indenture with Thomas Tyrer, Alderman of Liverpool, to get passage to America. He was a gunsmith and later planter of Southfarnham Parish, essex County, Virginia. He emigrated in 1696. Both Brothers landed at Norfolk, Virginia, settling in essex County, Virginia, about 5 miles northwest of Tappahamock, on the Rappahanhock River, in January, 1697. Henry Was married to Francis Mills and proved dead by dismissal of attachment on May 22, 1717.

I couldn't find this information earlier, as it is printed in the back of the family history book and I forgot to look there! Duh!

Henry and Frances had the following children:
John Byrom (1703-1724, James Byrom (1704-1748).

Is this of any help to you? Let me know!

Hello Jim,

Ezekiel Byrom, born circa 1737 and died circa 1801 in Essex County Virginia is my maternal 4th great grandfather. He had 7 children: William, Reuben, Elizabeth, Henry, John, Benjamin, and James Hoard. My mother's side is descended from Henry and the Tennessee Byroms from around Tullahoma and Winchester. I have a 1940 family history that pretty well researches Henry's and James Hoard's descendants. If I can be of further help to you, please let me know.
