Karen,
I'm confused by your message. Are you looking for John and Ruby or Francis and Laura? All the grandchildren were living with Laura's parents? Meaning John lived with Laura's parents when Francis and Laura disappeared?

Monica

Hi Monica
Sorry to confuse you.
Really I am looking for information on Francis Shaw and Laura Neal. I saw the census record that their children were living with her parents in the 1900 census.
What happen to Francis and Laura???
Was there an epidemic?
Did they go look for land to homestead??
Did they divorce?
Was he sent to prison?
I have alot of questions about Francis C. Shaw
Was his nickname "Frank"??
oh dear, my daughter is here to pick me up, I will type to you later and It's fantasic to be in touch with you Monica.
Love
Karen

You're very welcome. I don't know how/if we are related. My Shaws are from Ohio by way of Tennessee and previously Maryland. I'd be happy to share what I have if your Shaws link back to Ohio.

Thank you for the marriage information. These are the SHAW"S I am related to, are you? I did have SHAW's in Tenn, ARK, I don't know about Ohio, or Maryland, but I could check there next.(smile)
I don't know what happened to Francis and Laura in 1900. Idon't know if they got sick and died and the children were moved to her folks home, or what.
I'm trying to find Francis's Father. I have Laura Neal's father, it's the SHAW line I'm stuck on and have been for soo many years.
Do you know Francis.C. Shaw's father's name???

Thank you for helping me and I hope I can help you also.
Love Karen

Do you have a birth date and place for Francis? What are Laura's parent's names? Now that you have the marriage info you could write to the county of marriage and see what marriage records they have on file. A lot of the marriage licenses I have found in Ohio have the parents' names on them. Sometimes more info, sometimes less. I do know that with the Shaw's Charles is a very popular name. Even Francis. I saw a family tree on Ancestry that mentioned Laura and Francis (called Frank), but there wasn't anymore info than what I've already given you about Francis/Frank. Have you been able to learn anything about the Scott County, Arkansas area? Perhaps they had some sort of epidemic there?

I am more than happy to help anyway I can. Whenever I hit a brickwall in my own research I like to step away from it and help someone else out. Makes me feel like I'm getting somewhere - even if it isn't on my own tree. HAHAHA
