Hi Claud my name is Louise wint my fathers name was George Wesley wint my grandfathers name was Lusious wint and my Great Grandfathers name was David wint my Grandfather and my father were born in St Elizabeth Jamaica im not sure where Great grandfather was born . My father come to England around 1956 he had had two brother one called David the other i cant remember his name he also had three sisters one called Ivy the other gem and mavis Mavis is the only member of the immediate family still alive . I too had an uncle who was named Clarence Wint. He passed away in the 80's in Canada. I'm not sure what year. But I will ask my older sister who knew him better.He came to Canada from Portland Jamaica. My dad ,George Wint sponsered him.

My name is Bolton Wint from St. Anne Jamaica. But I grew up in Canada. My father's name is George Wint. My grand father's name is also Arthur Wint. And my dad resembles Arthur Wint's(famous Jamaican sprinter) father. So I'm so sure that there is a close blood relation.
Any how, I'd like to explore this further.

I am Valerie Wint, daughter of Arthur Wint, Jamaica's first Olympic Gold medallist. He was in the RAF 1942 - 47, was a doctor and surgeon in rural Jamaica, and was Jamaica's High Commissioner (Ambassador) in England from 1973 - 78.

I still don't know if it's the same Wint family, but Teresa had a sister Anna Wint. Teresa married a man with the last name Williams and they had a lot children. One is my grandmother, Mable; and some others are Ruth, Ruben, Maud, Alvin. That is all I know for now.

All of the wints based in London from our family come from jamaica.
The reunion was a wint/williams one.
I will have to give you some more info later but let me give you an idea of who we are.
My great granfathers name was Bruce wint married to sarah wint...
The have children.. Leslie, eldith, nellie, donald(my grandfather) Percy, Nora, stanley Beryl.
Aunt Beryl is in the US. sadly Aunt Nellie and eldith have passed. SAunt Eldith remained in jamaica and was a teacher and Aunt nellie lived in New york, Aunt Beryl lives in the usa. Aunt Nora is in jamaica.
My Aunt Mavis, who lives in the US also talks of her Aunt Teresea and she was at the reunion, she is a cousien of my grandfather.
We had always been told that the wints were two brothers that came from Germany, but we were advised at the reunion that there was a syrian connection. what do you know about that connection as it would be great to get to the bottom of this.

I was not at your reunion. I'm from Jamaica and now live in the US. I am looking for info about my grandmothers side of the family. Her name is Mable Williams and her mothers name was Teresa Wint before marrying. I don't have a lot of info. They had a reunion in Jamaica last year. I could not go, so I missed out on finding out a lot.

I think we were at a family reunion at the starfish trewlany last july. we were the wints from London, will be glad to see if we can find out about the syrian connection as that was the first we heard of that... we though they came from germany.

George, Lawrence, Thomas, James, John, Joseph, Charles, and Robert. The happened about six generations ago.
The Wint families from Clarendon, North Manchester, South Trelawny, St. Mary, and Portland all originated from those eight boys. Magnus Wint, the son of James Wint, started the wint family in North Manchester and South Trelawny. Charles Wint the son of Thomas Wint, started the wint family in Rest and Milk River, Clarendon. Walter and Egbert Wint sons of Thomas Wint, settled in May Pen.
Rupert Wint's father is Egbert Wint whose father is Thomas Wint from Resource, South Mnachester. Rupert had a furniture store in Four Path, Clarendon.
Carl Wint, the former news editor, father's name is Herdley Wint whose father's name is Natty Wint. Natty Wint is the son of John Wint whose is the brother of Thomas Wint.

The wint family is the largest family in Resource, South Manchester. There are many wints that are living in Brooklyn, and Amityville,Long Island.

I know Rupert Wint who owned a furniture store in Four Path,Clarendon. His father's name is Egbert Wint who was a barber in May Pen. Egbert and his brother Walter came from Resource district in South Manchester. My grandfather George (Sanky) Wint is the brother of Egbert and Walter.
