My grandfather Clement Wint was from Winchester England
he is cousin to Arthur Wint, previous Governor of Jamaica.
Granfather was born in England in about
1890.

How do you do? My maternal grandfather, Clement Wint,
was cousin to Arthur Wint, the GG of Jamaica. I found this
out 50 years ago when Arthur won a gold medal in the Olympics.
The Sunday Times of South Africa had a huge picture of him
streaking to victory. I saw it and he looked (on profile) just
like my Grandad and his name was Wint. I took this up with
my mom and she said they were cousins of Grandad's. I was so proud
to have a gold medallist "in the family".

I am a 57 year old Grandmother, divorced, living in Israel. I
have 4 children, 6 grand children and I live in lovely
place called Ramat Beit Shemesh. The Heights of the House of
the Sun. I work in Jerusalem for one of the largest charities
in the the world - as an English secretary.

I am Valerie Wint, daughter of Arthur Wint, Jamaica's first Olympic Gold medallist. He was not GG of Jamaica, but was Jamaica's High Commissioner (Ambassador) in England from 1973 - 78.
