I am trying to find a birth record for my g.g.g.grandmother, Phoebe West who married Thomas Sceles in Guysborough County, Nova Scotia in 1792. She died in 1856 at the alleged age of 85, and thus was born circa 1771. Your Phoebe, daughter of Isaac West, born in 1770, is the closest match I have found to date. Phoebe Sceles' son William's death record in 1873 gives her birthplace as "Hampton", with no state listed. It is my understanding there is a Hampton in the general vicinity of Granville. Do you have any additional information about your Phoebe West that would help me make an identification, or rule it out?
