I have searched some family roots. According to my search Joseph Anderson "Andy" West was married to Susan Posey. It maybe misspelled as Susanah. Born abt 1826. Son of John West and Nancy Harlow from NC. Brothers & Sisters were; Isaac William; Emily West, Chesley,Martin. I am trying to find who was John West from NC. I think it was Issac West b around 1745. There are alot of family names that are similiar.

I am looking for information on John West married Delphia Smith in about 1815. I am particularly interested in tracing his father. I have reason to belief that his name was Isaac West because he named his first born son Issac. John was born abt 1775 in NC.

I've also checked - nothing in my tree but the name Sarah Ennis Cropper sure sounds familiar.. try the LDS FHC index maybe. I'm certain I've come across this lady (somewhere) before. And I'd almost bet that her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Cropper.

Mary, I live just 40 minutes from Shawneetown, IL and was at the Gallatin County Courthouse last Thursday looking for info on Isaac West. Didn't find anything and notice your info that he was "visiting" Shawneetown when he died. Can you give me any more info on this? If I have an idea of where he was buried, I'd be happy to try to locate his grave if it can still be found. Thank you.

You have a John West wo died Dec 17, 1835 in Loudoun Countynty Va listed as a son of William West and Sarah Ennis Cropper. Do you have any more info on this John West? I'm searching for a John West, died Dec 17, 1835, who's wife was named Hannah , 1769-1863 (maiden name unknown). Hannah West made application for a pension based on John's service in the RW on March 14, 1836. On the 1840 Loudoun Cty census she is in household of son-in-law, John Orrison, and is listed as a RW pensioner.

John and Hannah West had at least two children: Edith West born abt 1800 and never married, still living in 1870 where she is found in the poorhouse. On several census she is listed as an lunatic. She is also mentioned in Hannah's will. The other child is Sarah Maria West ( May 21 1803-Jan 1864). Sarah Maria was married at least twice, first to Jacob Sherb: children-Townsend C. Sherb, William Sherb, and Geroge Sherb (there may been more). Sarah West Sherb married second, John Orrison, 1810-1856. They had at least two children: Martha and Elizabeth Orrison.

Townsend C Sherb married Emily Susan Howell daugher of David and Mahala Howell. William Sherb married Sarah Carter.
