Hello..it has been a very long time since I came to this site. I continue to hit a brick wall on Olie Edward Webber's twin sister. I have been told her birth name was Olive. I was also told that she might have changed her first name and her birth day. Again I do not know if this is true or not. I have been very lucky and found so much information from this site and people on it that I am hoping someone will help me out again with new sites to go to or information they have on the person. I have lots and lots of information I dont mind shareing with you..thank you

New information since my first posting. I have found out that Olie and Gladys had 3 children together. there names are Lila, Gloria, and Olie JR. Gladys ran away with a airplane stunt man. She had two children with him. Betty and Frankie both girls. They carry the Webber last name since that was gladys last name when she had the girls. Olie and Gladys where married in 1917 not sure when divorced but Gladys did marry James in 1931 and had children with him. Any other information would be great...thank you

Re: Descendents of Wolford von Webber

Wolford and Anneke are bogus and mythe. Please read below and click on links and you will get all your questions answered. Unfortunately there were people who posted false information connecting this "beheaded" Baron Wolford Von Weber to a Casper Weber and his family and it is NOT TRUE. Many have incorporated this Wolford into their database without realizing it is false information. One of the posters was a Ctrience and serious researchers have tried to get this false information off the internet (without success) so other's won't grab and insert into their database.

Read this and click on the links please. This came straight from the Netherlands and is documented. Hopes this helps. Serious Web(b)er reseachers are trying to get the truth out and this bogus info about Wolford corrected. It keeps on going and going and going for years now! Thanks. T

Anneke Jans -Webber connection Myth
Kurtwebber25 (View posts) Posted: 3 Jan 2001 5:06PM

Classification:
Surnames:

You will find the genealogy of the Royal House of the Netherlands at this site http://www.parkstad.com/nl/genkh01.html Note there is no connection between William the Silent and the Webber family. There has been several genealogies posted that claim a connection, they are all bogus. You might also find this letter from the Central Bureau Of Genealogy in the Netherlands to Virginia (Garrison) Magee. The letter can be found at the following Web site: http://starlite.virtualave.net/tgf/letter.html

Virginia wrote: “This letter was sent to me when I wrote to the Netherlands requesting information on Anneke Jans Webber, daughter of Wolfert Webber, king of Holland. The Letter reads as follows:

Dear Madam, With disconcerting regularity we receive letters from the U.S.A. in which people ask for more information about Anneke Jans, wrongly called Anneke Jans Webber, and purported to be of Royal blood. This fairy tale - because that in fact is the only apt appellation - had its origin in the literary endeavors of a certain Browning. In 1894 he published a book called "Americans of Royal Descent", (Vol. 3, p. 800) and ever since there have been credulous people who thought themselves to be of Royal extraction, or rich, or both. According to this book, Anneke Jans' pedigree and of her first husband Roelof Janszen as well as her second spouse, the Reverend Bogardus, is no less fascinating than the tales spun about her .Further more, the real story is based on irrefutable, scientific research-results and published by George Olin Zabriskie in the well known magazine "De Halve Maen", issues of October 1972, January, April, July and October 1973. In these same articles many facts about the Webber-family are given as well. We advise you to request copies of these articles at: The Holland Society of New York, 122 East 58th St., New York 10022.”

Henry Webber father, married Mary Millard. He was a blacksmith. They had a number of daughters in Stogursey and Upton, but only one son George, my gt gt grandfather.

There was another family in Stogursey about the same time with similar names.

Anyway, if we have talked before sorry, but its good to keep in contact , you never know we may have a link way back!

cathy

Her parents, I guess, were George and Ann Webber who had aboout 10 children, 1786-1815? This couple married i think 06.05.1785 and Betty was born in Wiveliscombe 05.02.1797.
Huish Champflower, (a couple of miles away) register extracts were also very helpful - thanks again!

dave

Webber Family Book - Croft

Hi,

I have read some of the requests for information from the book "Dutch Webbers of Indiana and Illinois." I have that book. Your question regarding "Croft" caught my attention!

My grandmother was Ruth Louise Webber Croft (born 10 March 1894). She was born in Washington State to Mary Ellen (Ellen) Lea from England, the second wife of Solomon Marion Webber. My grandparents had six sons and then one daughter. They lived in Kingsburg, California. Our name "Croft" is a spelling change of "Kraft", which was the name given to my great grandfather when he was in the Swedish army. The officials wanted short names that were easy to shout, plus they had too many Johnsons, Larsons, etc. So our name does not have any history in this country before 1902 when my grandfather Johan (John Croft), two siblings, and their parents arrived from Sweden. My grandfather was the Chief of Police of Kingsburg, California, and Constable for a district. Kingsburg was a really small town at the time; there was one other officer.

Would you give me your connection with "Croft." We might have some people in common.

Linda Croft Eastham, Sacramento, Calif.

Hi roz57.
Just read a very old message 2000,We have a George Webber,we know he imigrated to Sydney, our George married a Mary Ann Bale 1850 in Geelong, perhaps his first wife died, although there is no mention of a previous marriage on his death certificate, not sure where he was born, the date sort of gels,we thought 1815 or 16. Story goes he was a sea captain, but in Geelong he had a shoe repair business.
Hope you are still doing family history, you can say yea or nay to this message, our George was a mystery man.
regards inga45

Dear Carlos,
I saw the pictures and loved them very much. Congrats on your new son and I'm very proud that you named him Santiago.
I am Rolando Santiago Webber and the tombstone is my father's. Your grandmother (Flavia)is my sister and I'm your mother's uncle. I live in San Antonio, Texas. I was very surprise and happy to know that our families are making the connection to unite the families. Hope to go to the Valley very soon (probably in October or November) and hope I can meet you and your family. My son Rolando Santiago Webber II also just had a son on the 21 August 2009. By the way, if you see your grandmother (Flavia), tell her I have not forgotten to make copies of my father's picture she loan me and will take it back to her when we go to Weslaco/Mercedes. Keep in touch. Your Grand Uncle. R.S. Webber.

Are you saying that Regina's niece, Elvira, was married to Robert Handy? Because Regina was also married to a Handy as well according to my records. ( I have to double check this but I am pretty sure this is correct.) As far as pictures, I will look through what I have and see if I have any pictures of Elvira. (I think I do) It has been a while since I have worked with this as I have put it down for the past few years. Please feel free to write me at schwebb@hotmail.com as well.
Thanks primo,
Mark Webber

She was born about 1985 in Braamfontein, Johannesburg, South Africa.
Her first husband was Mr Davis or Davies who died shortly after their first child, Henry, was born - about 1920.
She then married a Scot, William Paterson and moved to Southern Rhodsia where their daughter Elizabeth was born in 1923.
I believe Anna came from a large family and think that her father might have been a tailor.
Any information would be gratefully appreciated
