In response to your post, I'm searching for Webbers. The areas of Stogursey, Stert Marsh, Bridgwater Somerset have been fruitful from 1825 - 1850. Need help before and after this time. GGfather married here in Geelong in 1878. Email me: webber@pipeline.com.au

Hi George,

Is there any connections with your Webbers to Harbour Grace? I have a Henry Webber who married Sabina Davis in 1855. They had 3 children then he died in 1860 when he fell overboard the "Ellen Gisborne". She then married James Fox, although I haven't been able to find their marriage. They had several children including my ancestor George Fox. I have a photo with George and his brother James Fox, John Webber and his sister Mary Ash nee Webber taken in Toronto about 1890.

I haven't done too much reearch on Henry's lineage, although I have a little. I was interested because John Webber gave his property in Harbour Grace to his step brother James Fox. I haven't found the deed that showed how John aquired it. I'm assuming it came to him from his deceased father's family. The Fox family lived at that address for many many years including when the children were small.

Hello, not sure if we have talked before but as I was browsing the Webber postings on Ancestrry I saw a posting from you stating that you had Webbers from Stogursey.

My gt gt grandfather Henry Webber , born Upton, Somerset, married Mary Millard from Stogursey. He was a blacksmith and they had Mary Ann 1818, Jane 1820, Harriet 1824, and George, my gt grandfather, 1826, all in Stogursey. I know there is at least one nother Webber family living in Stogursey at this time, but wondered if yours and mine were linked,

Best wishes, Cathy

Thank you David,

I have Henry WEBBER and Mary MILLARDs marriage from the Stogursey registers, the earlier WEbbers came from the Bishops Transcripts (I think) found for me by a kind memeber of a mailing list.

Thank you for all the hard work you do with the Somerset transcriptions. Unfortunately trhere are no Upton registers available .

Wow! You must be the hero David Cheek who copied down all the Parish Registers I discovered recently by Goggling
Somerset Parish Register Wiveliscombe!!
Thanks a million.
My wife's gt gt gt grandfather was James Aplin who married Betty WEebber 05.04.1818. Her parents, I guess, were George and Ann Webber who had aboout 10 children, 1786-1815? This couple married i think 06.05.1785 and Betty was born in Wiveliscombe 05.02.1797.
Huish Champflower, (a couple of miles away) register extracts were also very helpful - thanks again!

Hello

I have a feeling we have talked before, but my memory isn't waht it should be and I just wanted to be sure I hadn't missed a rellie.

My Webbers were from Stogursey at one point. Henry Webber father, married Mary Millard. He was a blacksmith. They had a number of daughters in Stogursey and Upton, but only one son George, my gt gt grandfather.

There was another family in Stogursey about the same time with similar names.

Anyway, if we have talked before sorry, but its good to keep in contact , you never know we may have a link way back!
