Just to say that the Bisgood family, noted here in james Joseph Bisgood under "
Webber" went on and connected with others including
Kirwin (from
Wicklow /Dublin areas) a family which was in
Wicklow under Kurvan in the trials papers ...not noted in this site. Five sons of two Kurvan brothers were executed by the
English after the revolution. I understand a memorial to the family and its roots in independant actions (united Irishmen and so on) is in a
Wicklow cemetery. Bisgood is a very unusual name, however many now represent it...name with suggested derivations from "Biscuitier" (Biscuit....Biscut...Bisgood)...hugenots fleeing France and living in
Dublin eventually becoming catholic and more recently from "
Peascod" and its derivations. Families associated with Bisgood for example ae Old (Robin around
Manchester),
Hooke,
Wootten (GF)and
Clancy. Any knowledge of Bisgood and
Kirwin most gratefully received on
