Thanks for the info Angie. If you figure out where Lloyd Vivion and family are hiding in 1850, let me know. I've looked at every name in Goliad in that year and all I've come up with is a Loyd Bevian from Mass., but without any family.

Surnames: Gibson Vivion Vandiver
I've plowed the same ground with the same results. Where are they for 1850? A family that large with children born in Goliad straddling the 1850 census years can't just disappear.
I'd appreciate knowing if you ever find anything about Caroline Braton Gibson Vivion's parents John T. and Margaret Gibson. They are buried in Goliad and their tombstones list only their dates of death. They are my brick wall.

! A Thacker Vivion is in 1830 census of Lincoln, MO. with 11 children under 20
yrs. Other family members listed Calvin Riggs 7 m MO
Mary Boring 19 f ARK don't know relation of all
George W Boring 14 m ARK

! In 1870 Census he is listed as living next to Caroline B Vivion with a Mary Mc/Wahely, in the next censes 1880 he is not listed. He died in 1873 in Goliad, Texas

! Had a son killed by Indians in 1848.

! Have a marriage date of 2 May 1823

! He volunteered in 1814 for service as a Private, Co. of Mounted Soldiers,
In the Indian War of 1812-15. Served 110 days, discharged in 1815 Was also appointed a Constable of Union Township in MO. in 1819. Lived in Auburn, Lincoln Co., MO. 1815-1816. He was appointed a Justice of the Peace in Cole Co.,
KY., 2 April 1821. He is referred to as "of Lincoln Co.", in 1823 when his
Father’s heirs were listed by his brother Isaiah. On p. 88, States that he Volunteered at Russellville, Logan Co., VA. And was discharged on Brisnow Creek
In 1814, also served in the "Ranger Service", of the Company of Mounted Volunteers on the frontier of Texas, near Laredo about 23 March 1851 for six
months and was discharged 28 May 1851. Information on his claim form made in
Goliad Co., TX. On 2 January 1854 for a pension.

1800=4/7, 1810=14/17, 1820=24/27, 1830=34/37, 1840=44/47, 1850=54/57, 1860=64/67, 1870=74/76, 1873=77/79
Thacker was my grandfather through Lloyd Vivion
