I am researching the VanSickle family of Morgan Co., IN and Sussex Co., NJ. In particular, Mercy Ann VanSickle (b. 10-09-1835, d. 01-22-1891) who married Erasmus Stimson in Morgan Co., IN. Or her father, Jacob VanSickle (b. 1814) of Sussex Co., NJ who m. Mahala Salmon also of Sussex Co. both of whom died in Morgan Co., IN. Jacob's father was Samuel VanSyckle who m. Mary Mack. His grandfather was Richard (Dirck) Van Syckle who m. Mary Cain. His ggrandfather was Reiner VanSicklen II (b. 1723 d. 12-12-1803). I will be happy to share what information I have with others researching this line.

I am also researching this line and looking for the parents of Henry Watson Van Sickel b. Jan 5, 1833 in Morris, New Jersey. It is family lore, that Henry Watson was the second son of a father who owned and operated the Van Sickle Mill (possibly FROM VanSickle Mill, Morgan County, Indiania). Upon the death of the father the eldest son inherited the business and Henry Watson was left with nothing. He eventually moved west and married Anna Benham in Flint Michigan in 1856. I also have uncomfirmed information that Henry Watson Van Sickel was the son of Reiner Van Sickel and Jane Eldridge.....anything sound familiar?

Anxious for your response.

Thomas,
I am looking for a Vansickle line. My ggrandmother Anna Belle Vansickel was born in 1869 in Morgan Co. IN. Her father was Joseph Vansickle and mother was Sarah E. Burnett. They later were located in Adair Co. MO and lived near a Gabriel Vansickle. He was born in OH abt 1839. I know he was listed in the Morgan Co. 1870 Census. If you have any information, please let me know.

I have family history dating 4 or 5 generations back from the first "Reiner Van Syckle" that you have mentioned. It took me a long time to figure out the dates, names and places for each going back. If you would like or need this info please e-mail me w/the Subject as Van Syckle family history so I know it's not spam.

I am trying to trace the parents of Aaron Van Sickle (VanSyckle) who was born in 1807 in Warren County, NJ. I have found his name in the 1850 census there and saw that Samuel VanSyckle is also listed in the census and would have been an appropriate age to be his father. Does anyone have a list of the children of Samuel VanSyckle
