Pablo M. Valencia, age 99, passed away unexpectedly at his residence in Anton Chico on May 1, 2005. Pablo was born January 24, 1906 in La Loma, NM to the home of Anastacio and Rafaelita Montoya Valencia. He married Leonor Gomez on January, 1955 in Anton Chico. Pablo was a longtime cattle and sheep rancher. He worked as a rancher in Villanueva, Gallisteo and the Juan de Dios area. He was a member of San Jose Catholic Church in Anton Chico. At 99 years of age, Pablo was still active in his daily life. He was still seen outside of his residence cutting weeds and playing with his great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Leonora Valencia, grandson; Diego Velasquez, Brothers; Gregorio Valencia, Giberto Valencia and Manuel Valencia, his Sister; Juanita Perea. Survivors include his son's Ricardo Valencia and wife Agnes of Santa Rosa and Jerry Gonzales and wife Yolanda of Santa Rosa, his daughter Ana Valencia de Velasquez and husband Pablo of La Loma, grandchildren; Karmen Velasquez, Sara Lopez, and Valeria Gonzales, great grandchildren, Francisco Romero, Romeo Romero, Jacquelyn Romero and Ana Maria Lopez. Also surviving is his sister Aurelia Marquez and husband Isidro of Tucumcari as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends. Rosary services will be recited on Monday, May 2, 2005 at 7:00 from St. Joseph Church in Anton Chico. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 3, at 11:00 AM, also from St. Joseph Church with Father Patrick Dufy officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Anton Chico. All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa.

Aurelia P. Marquez, age 72, of Tucumcari, NM formally of Anton Chico passed away on Saturday, February 14, in Amarillo, TX following a sudden illness. She was born May 22, 1936 in Anton Chico to the home of Fidel and Aurelia (Valencia) Cordova.

Aurelia married Isidro Marquez of Tucumcari. She was a homemaker and loved watching her novellas on TV. She retired from the Presbyterian Hospital in Denver where she worked for many years. Aurelia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her mother(sic) Juanita V. Perea, an infant daughter and her brother; Pablo Valencia.

Survivors include her husband Isidro Marquez of Tucumcari, two daughters; Lorraine Maestas and husband Jenaro of Anton Chico; Liz McKinney and husband Kenny of Tucumcari, a brother; Remigio Cordova and sister Lizbe Otero. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Tania, Keith, Francesca, Abraham, Berna, Monica, Matt, Chris, Crystal, Michelle and 12 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces, nephews, a host of relatives and many friends.

Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, February 17, at 6:30 PM from St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Tucumcari, NM; a second rosary will be held on Wednesday, February 18, at 6:00 PM from St. Joseph Church in Anton Chico. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, February 19, at 11:00 AM from St. Joseph Church with Father Antonio Mondragon officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Anton Chico.

Serving as Pallbearers will be; Tania Maestas, Keith Maestas, Matthew McKinney, Christoper McKinney, Abraham Maestas, Aaron Maestas, Monica Maestas and Jordan Maestas.

All services are entrusted to the Chavez Funeral Home of Santa Rosa. www.chavezfuneralhome.com
