An ancestor, Martha Tomlin was born about 1833, possibly in Cork, Ireland. Her father was James Tomlin, a coal porter. She married Thomas Chalkley in Kings Walden, Herts. in 1856 and later lived in Hitchin, Herts. Can you help? I'd love to hear from possible relatives or anyone with information.

I am also looking for information relating to Tomlin family in Hertfordshire, particularly Lillian Tomlin b.1892 to Arthur Joseph Tomlin Annie, ms Taylor. Arthur Joseph (b. around 1872) was son of George Julia Tomlin, whose other children were George, Hannah, James, Elizabeth Albert.

I'm afraid I don't have enough information to know if there could be a connection. My Martha Tomlin (b. abt 1833) was married in Kings Walden in 1856 and her father's name waas James Tomlin. It is possible that they came from Cork, Ireland, but I have not been able to prove this. Were your Tomlin family in the Kings Walden area?

My G-G-Grandmother was Sylvia Mary TOMLIN married abt. 1893 William SPOTTISWOODE of Grosvenor Place London. She was the daughter of John Leonard TOMLIN (d. bef. 1893). That's all I have.
Would like to find more on him.
