I know exactly who you are looking for. I was married to Michael
Crouse Tock. His gr.grandfather was Dr. Orson
Wilson Tock of Flushing
Michigan. He is buried in the
Tock plot in Flushing. He was a medic in the Civil War. I was told he was at the battle of Look-Out Mountain. He became a doctor (M.D.) after the war. His daughter was Ella Mary
Tock (there were other children, too). I think she was a twin.
Ella, called Mary, married a
Darrow (supposedly from the Clarence
Darrow branch) and lived, I believe in N.C. They had two children, Orson
Wilson and Barbara. She left T.K.Darrow and came home to Flushing when the children were young. They took the name of
Tock as their surname. Both of these children attended the U. of M. Barbara was a social worker and later a teacher. Orson became an osteopathic doctor.
Barbara married
Marlin Bailey. They had three sons. John is deceased. Dr. Thomas
Tock Bailey and Robert live in
Rochester,
Michigan. Barbara and
Marlin are deceased.
Orson married Mabel
Belle Umphrey. They had three children. Bruce and Mary Ann are deceased. Michael lives in (I heard) St. Helen, Mi., a recent move from Prudenville, Mi.
Michael and I had two children. Michelle and Jeffrey, both of whom are living in Mi.
My informatioon comes mostly from Aunt Barbara who was my dear friend and liked to talk about her family heritage.
I would appreciate anything you might be able to tell us as Phil
Webb (my son's father-in-law) and I are trying to put together a family history for our grandaughter in common and my three other grandchildren. Phil is on the message board inquiring as you are about Dr.O.W.Tock. The younger doctor once had a practice in Owosso, but gave it up due to the depression years. He died very young (I believe he was 59).
I hope this will help.
Doris M. Tock
