Looking for the family of Sophus/Sofus he was my gg-grandfather. Born in 1862 in Denmark, settled in Iowa. He married Patrina Hansen Ericksen. I can tell you from being a Sorensen that the last name is never spelled correctly! All through life I had to re spell it for everybody so make sure you look for SorenSON before Sorensen :) It will save you some time. I would like to know the parents or anything about Sophus. Varients on his wifes name are Peterina, Patrina, and Katrine. Thanks

Fred also had sisters, one married a Brunsvold, one married (Christenson) I think. I talked to Betty on the phone a couple times and she did send me some copies of information she had in her mothers autograph book.
Do you happen to know your gramma Petrinas fathers name? I am excited to talk to you.
I have wrote to Avis Hoffman before, we are confused on who Sophus's father was. I have a copy of his death cert and it says Paul Sorensen, but the census says Hans Christian. Any pics? please email me at privately if you want.
