James Snow - Newfoundland
Hi. Ive traced my family back to James Snow b. 1803 Fogo, Newfoundland (died 1866 in Black Island?). There is also record of a James Snow in the 1783-1793 NotreDame Bay Slade Records, whom I believe may have been his father.
They both appear on lists of Notredame Bay Fisherman, among other parish records.
Due to the history of the area it is likely that a Snow (maybe a James?) came to Fogo, Newfoundland from the English West Country sometime between 1720-1800, but I dont know where to look futher.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
