I see that you are related through Cornelius Holmes Shows Jr. & Elizabeth Sumrall. Perhaps you can help me. One of their daughters was Mary Jane Shows, who married Joseph Josiah Beech and had several children. Joseph's brother was my great-grandfather. I have seen information on a Family Tree at Ancestry that says that Mary Jane's sister Martha was also married to Joseph Josiah (Siah?) Thing is, they were concurrent. One didn't die and he married her sister, they both had children by him during the same time period. I found Martha in a census as Martha Shows with her children, listed as Shows, and her mother Elizabeth Shows. The next census, I found two of the boys who were still living listed as Beech. Any knowledge of this?? Surprises me a little since Mary Jane and Martha were sisters, but Aaron had 2 children by another woman and his wife (my Granny Beech) cared for them a while. Then he left Granny Beech and he & the "other woman" & their children moved about 75 miles away and changed their names! Before he died, he contacted some of his children, so my family knows the story and where they were. Another interesting thing is that Martha was buried at the Primitive Baptist Church cemetery that's about 3 miles (south?) out of Ellisville. That's where Joseph's mother Sallie Parker Beech & his sister & brother-in-law are buried! Joseph & Mary Jane are buried at Pilgrim Cemetery, I've been told.
Would like any information you could share.
