Thanks for writing this information. I had the names of 9 the children but not all 13. I didn't have Jane, Elizabeth,David,
Seers or Phoebe, you don't have
Sallie. Her information came from a Long biography. I have Charlotte ( who m. Samuel Wesley
Goss) born on Sept. 3, 1820 in
Seneca Co. NY. bur. Oak
Park Cem., Mondovi, WI. Sallie b 1824,
Seneca m. Joseph F. Long of
Luzerne Co. PA and Eliza b 1840,
Luzerne Co. m James
Moslander of
Mason Co. IL. According to his biography, Sarah and 2nd husband came to
Mason Co in 1855 and 10 of their children had lived to adulthood.
Now I am wondering whether your Charles had the middle name "George". I found in the 1860
Mason Co. census a James
Wandell, 70, b PA, Sarah 50 or 56, b NY (She was born Feb. 1800 NY in my info) Charles, 26, b PA and George
Shay, age 16, born PA. I am thinking that James had a son, Charles
Wandell, and rather than have 2 named Charles in the household, your Charles got called by his second name for a period of time ? The age is about right.
And thanks for the Wendall/Wandell name-I didn't have that. But it is a common name in
Luzerne Co. and several in the
Pennsylvania township of
Mason Co in the 1850s and 1860s.
Another problem is the birthdate of the Jane that you mentioned. Jane and Charlotte could not both have been born in 1820. Are you sure of that date? I have dates of the other siblings that I mentioned, if you are interested.
Thanks again for the help and I's appreciate any further information .
