Rena and
Della Sell were sisters. They were both born in
South Dakota. Rena and
Della were two of the thirteen children born to Isam Alexander Sell and Rose Etta
Tedrow.
Isam was born on July 7, 1866, probably in
Kansas. His mother's name was Susie (
Childs?). He was a step-son to John Sell. Susie was a midwife in Concordia,
Kansas.
John and Susie's other children were: Ella, Burr, John, Annie, Ben, Hanna,
Elliot, Elsie, and Mary.
Isam married Rose Etta
Tedrow (b. October 23, 1872 in either
Iowa or
Kansas). They were married on June 5, 1892 in
Courtland,
Kansas. They lived in
Courtland,
Kansas until 1900, then they moved to
Perkins,
South Dakota. In 1911 they homesteaded near Milesville,
South Dakota. The family lived there for three years then moved east to Lake
Andes,
South Dakota, where the family remained.

I don't have information about the boys' wives or whether they were married. I do know that Ira was married twice but had no children.
Frank and Henry Sell served in the
Army in World War I. They traveled overseas together but were split up. Henry served in France. They were reunited and returned to the States together on a captured German ship called the "Patrica."
Isam's wife Rose was the daughter of William and Clara
Tedrow. Clara was French. William was born in Ireland and came to
America at age 14. He traveled on a ship filled with Irish boys who were to fight in the Civil War. His brother George died from smallpox while fighting in the war.
William and Clara had five children: William, Frank, Frances (
Fannie), Rose, and Floyd. They also raised Fannie's son by her first marriage, Ben
McMannus. William had a farm in Jamestown,
North Dakota, where his father died (pneumonia) and is buried. Clara
Tedrow is buried in Philip,
South Dakota. Frances (
Fannie) married a second time to Fred Picker and had four children: Fred, Jim, Lillian, and May.
