I am a native of Dorchester County, Md. I have read the postings and the information for Dorchester County is very early. My grandfather was Joseph Thomas Ruark, married Nellie Seward of the Neck District of Dorchester County. The union produced the following: Milford Ruark of Cambridge, Alvin ruark of Cambridge, Howard of Hudson, Joseph of Seaford, De.,Ailene of Secretary, Edna of Cambridge and Ada of Cambridge. The family of Joseph Thomas Ruark were watermen. He owned and operated the Chesapeake bugeye, Thomas M. Freeman. He died in 1954. Nellie died in 1962. any information would be a help.

I have come across a Daniel Asbury Faulk in VOL II pp 44-46 of Bladen County, NC Bible Records - perhpas this is also spelled Fulkes - These records are available (according to the listing) From Bladen County, NC Historical Society.

Looking for the parents of Delila or Delia Ruark who married John Stanford on 9/20/1798. I have been told she was born 6/30/1779 in MD and died 1863 in Marion co., MS. She is in the Marion co., MS censuses for 1850 & 1860. In 1860, she is listed as "Nancy". Nancy Delila or error?

Would Nellie Seward be related to Elijah Seward b. 1799 Md. Don't have any specific region for him. He married Elizabeth A. b. in Pa. The family moved to Ohio and had several children and later moved to Fulton Co., IL. This is my husband's line. Been trying to trace them. Thanks

The samuel and henry info jives with what I've found. Samuel is my great-great-great grandfather. His daughter lula is my great-great grandmother. Lula's son Raymond Thomas Clevidence is my great grandfather. Raymond's son John is my grandfather. John's son Walter is my father.
