My great granfather's name was William Alexander Rowe and he was raised in Walton County,FL. There was some kind of illness in his family and he was raised by a family with the last name Hinote. He was born around 1860 and died around 1935. It was said that he had other brothers and sisters. We can't find any information about him anywhere and we have been trying for years. He married Idell Rowe and was 35 years older than here. Anyone that knew anything about him died years ago Please help me if you can?!!!

William Alexander Rowe born abt 1860 was my Great Grandfather. I don't know if he is the same one as you. I,too, am having a lot of trouble finding any information about the Rowe family tree. I have come to a dead end after David Rowe born abt 1787 and his wife Jemima L Huffman. What I do know, is that Alexander or Albert was born in North Carolina and married Matilda Wiseman abt 1894 in Spruce Pine North Carolina. They had two children, Leroy Rowe and Minnie Lou Rowe. Matilda died when Minnie was 3 or 4yrs old, which makes it about 1906. Not wanting to raise two small children on his own he married Emma Corbin Drummond. This was her second marriage as well. Her first husbands last name was Drummond. It was the name that appeared on my grandparents marriage certificate For some reason she kept Drummond as her maiden name. She had no children with he first marriage and none with Alexander. My Aunt told me that him and Emma owned and ran Hotels. I believe they started one in Ohio and ended up in Michigan. My Grandmother used to tell me about her father being a dentist and he would travel by horse to people that needed him. I have some of his instruments. I don't think he was able to make a living at it because he did run a hotel at the same time. One other thing on my grandparents marriage certificate Rowe was spelled two different ways, Rowe and Roe??? Hopefully this can help you. If this is the same Rowe maybe we can help each other
