My husband, John Howard Rowe is seeking information on the Rowe family, his father was John Howard Rowe Sr.; his grandfather was Charles Marshall Rowe married to Ada Katharine Jarvis Lowman. If you have any information would be willing to share what I have with you. Thanks!

Hi,
What part of Southeastern, Ohio are you talking about? I have Rowes from Pike and Ross County. My grandmother was born in Huntington Township, Ross County, Ohio. She had 9 brothers and sisters. If you think they are from the same area contact me.

Hi Roger, All the Rowe family came from Meigs County. Before that they were from Falls Church, VA. My niece, Jennifer Cummins, also has information on the Rowe family and she lives in Pomeroy Ohio (Meigs) She has a message on this board dated 12 Sep 02 "looking for information on Rowe/jarvis". I will talk to my husband about your family, maybe we are related.
Thanks, Joyce Rowe

Hi Joyce,
Surprised to hear from you. Nearly all my searches have been fruitless before. I know where Pomeroy, Ohio is. My daughter lives in Beckley, West Virginia and we use to go through that area on route 35 when going down to see her. I have photos of my grandmother and some of her sisters and a brother. I would say at least one of the photos goes back to the 1880s while the others were later. I do not have a photo of their parents thou. A lot of them I have traced down while others I had no luck. I live on the south western side of Ohio between Cincinnati and Dayton in Butler county. Hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely

Roger Warren

Joyce,

Do you have a Peter Rowe or a Mary Jane Rowe (Peter's daughter) in your line? I have very little info on them, but Mary Jane is my great grandmother. She was born Dec 1841, married William B Randall, and died Dec 8, 1905. They settled in Holt County, MO, but came from Ohio, I think.

Dear Linda,
I'm sorry for not replying more promptly, but my computer was in the shop for the last 12 days. It crashed on me and I lost every thing so I have to start from scratch again.

Unfortunately I do not have a Peter Rowe or a Mary Jane Rowe in my line. Our line came from Huntington Township in Ross County, Ohio. There is another completely different line in Concord Township in Ross County, Ohio, but these folks are a different line. I also had a Mary Jane Rowe who was my grandmother's sister, but she married a Krumm and they moved to Pasadena, CA in 1905. Sorry!

Sincerely

Roger Warren

Joyce,
I am not sure if you can help or not. I am trying to trace my Rowe line from Indiana and we have a Charles Rowe who married a Mary Johnson in Meigs County Ohio August 4, 1846. I do have Charle's funeral record and it lists his father as John Rowe from VA. We have not had much luck in finding his father John Rowe. Hopefully you can help? Thanks

Hi,
I do not think we have a connection unfortuatly. I have a John Roe born 1780 in Pennslyania. His wife Nancy (no maiden name) was born in 1790 also in Pa. John died after 1850, but before 1860. Nancy died after 1871. They lived in either Huntington Township, Ross County, Ohio or Twin Township, Ross County, Ohio. they had 34 children Isaac (my great grand father), Thomas, Solomon and Rachel. I have no information about any going to Indiana, but it can't be ruled out. Sorry if this doesn't help you.

Sincerely

Roger
