I don't know anything at all about the Rotella family except that my great great grandfather Francesco Cappellano married a Maria Rotella. He was born abt 1866 in Sambiase, Cantanzaro, Italy. I know he came to the US a few times and the last time I trace him thru Ellis Island was in 1910, but his wife Maria had still remained in Italy. I believe her parent's names are Nicola Rotella and Regenia (Virginia).

If anyone has any information on the Rotellas from Cantanzaro, please contact me. My family mainly ended up in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dear Maria,
My name is Rita McDonald and I am researching my grandfather Bruno Rotella. I think he came from Calabria but am not sure from what town. He was born around 1871. He married Rosina Benincasa who was from Sambiase. He came to America in 1903 and settled in Scottdale, Pennsylvania which is a suburb of Pittsburgh, I think. He supposedly died in or around 1906. I don't have any other info about him except he had a brother whose daughter was Peppina which is also my mother's name. She supposedly married a Vittorio Pileggi and settled in the northern part of Italy. What peaked my curiosity was the fact that your great great grandfather settled in Pittsburgh.

hi, I am Maria Rotella from Italy , Rome, my father is Vicnenzo Rotella , he was born in Catanzaro and my grand father was Antonio Rotella, now he's dead..however I have parents too in USA but I saw them once in Catanzaro and then I don't know . Some parents was originally in Sambiase, Catanzaro

My Maria married into the Cappellano family. She had 3 children, 3 boys and 1 girl. The children all went to USA to Pennsylvania. Maria remained in Sambiase where she died.

my grand father was Antonio Rotella and my grandd mother was Maria Adamo she's was born in Marcellinara. In Sambiase I had the Adamo's family but I don't know Cappellano, and these brothers of my grand mother Maria went in America before the second mondial war..and one of them married a woman in Sambiase but I knews her name..sorry.other notice I don't know.
