I have Roos history in Sweden going back to 1600 if anyone is interested.
Farther back the family came from Denmark, Germany? I have no information from before 1600
If someone has information that far back I would be interested.

My great grandfather, Andrew Roos, immigrated from Sweden in
the mid 1860's I believe. I don't know any more as of yet but
would appreciate access to your data.
Thanks

I know I've heard the name August but I don't know how close a relation he might be to Christian Roos. Also from Germany but I don't know if it was the same one that my Grandmother was from - Schlickten sp?? She was an Auweter before she married him.

Hi, the name Christian doesn't sound familiar. What year was he born? I have Peter Jacob Roos born June 14, 1783. His son Peter Jacob Roos born 1809 in Zauback, Germany. His children, Margaretha, Phillip, Heinrick,my line born March 19, 1846 in Zauback, Germany. His children: Louise, Heinrick, Augustinus (August) my Grandfather, born July 19, 1878 in Mittlebollenbach, Germany. Maybe you'll recognize some of these names. Cathy

Dear Sir or Madam:
My grandfather, Fredrich Roos came from Sweden in 1912 to NYC. He was from along line of printers in Sweden. His father, grandfather or great grandfather was a Mayor of a town they called Roos in Sweden. All printers. I know no more except he married
my grandmother here in the states not too long afterword. She was a Norwegian. I was told he married down and was ostrasized from his well to do family in Sweden. Any information would help. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Noted your Mar/Apr. postings re August Roos, Germany. My August was b. ab't. 1826, supposedly Bavaria/Saxony, migrated ab't 1850-55 to NYC and founded A. Roos Sons Copper Works. Have been unsuccessful locating his origins in Germany. His spouse was Anna Maria Finke, b. 1823 Reichenberg, Bohemia. His children Charles and Frederick. Any chance of a link with your August?

Also looking for information on Charles Roos. have been trying to research the family history but have little information on the Roos family. My Grandmother, Anna Roos was a daughter of Charles Roos.
