Looking for my silblings from my dad side........

Hello everyone who reads this. My name is Luisa Ann Rocha, I was born to Andrea Rocha And Louis David Rocha back in Dec. 6 1971, ya it's been a while and I know I have lots of half brother's and sister's that I don't know, I would like to have some kind of commmunication with my blood since my father has past since 1980 and there's no way I can keep in touch with who I am related to.. So if your mother knew a man by the name of Louis David Rocha send me a message and I can ask you a few questions to see if we are related... I was told I had around 30 siblings but I can't confirm that. My father was a very handsome man and was in the army so he traveled a lot....I meet about five of my brothers when I was younger at his funeral and a couple of sisters but I can't remeber them....
Also if you are my relative by blood like aunt,uncles, cousins please reply to my message.. Seeking to find my ancestors I have many kids and grandkids who need to know where they have family at...

I am Ruben Javier Rocha and my father's family come from Real de XVI, San Luis Potosi. I don't recognize the names in your post, but my grandfather was Candelario Robledo Rocha, son of Felipe Rocha and Nicolasa Robledo. His parents were Jose Maria Rocha and Lucina Rodriguez. Felipa Rocha, my grandmother from San Benito TX died in 1937. This was my dad's mom, an infant at the time. She had a sister who lived into her 90s in Donna TX, Maria Rocha Maldonado. Their parents were Rosalio Rocha and Isabel Gonzalez from Mexico. Rosalio Rocha died in 1959. His parents were Isidro Rocha and Refugia Gonzalez. There was a woman who died in Edcouch, just north of Donna, in 1965. Although probably a coincidence, her name was Teresa Rocha Rodriguez (born in Nuevo Leon MX) and her father is listed as Isidro Rocha with a different mother (Jacinta Ponce). Again maybe related, maybe not.

Felipa Rocha was married to Florentino Zepeda, my grandfather. They had two sons, Miguel and Octavio. Miguel was my dad.

If any of these names sound familiar, I'd be interested to see a response with detail you may have about Rocha family from Donna TX, Cameron County or Hidalgo County.

I found this string of posts interesting. My grandmother's maiden name was Felipa Rocha and died in early 1937 I believe. She was my dad's mom and Miguel Zepeda was an infant at time of her death. My grandfather was Florentino Zepeda from San Benito, TX. The Zepeda side of my family also has a few holes in the ancesty tree although I know my great grandfather's name was Santiago Zepeda. Felipa had a sister we called Dona Maria Rocha (married name Maldonado) that lived in Donna TX who lived into her 90s. I just the geographic proximity and the reference to Donna TX were interesting. I grew up in the Rio Grande Valley.

Anne Benevides (d.2008) is my Aunty. Emily Rocha is my Mom. Yes, she married Henry Crivello and lived in Honomu on the Big Island of Hawaii. I was born and raised in Honomu and now live in Las Vegas. I had two brothers, Henry "Jr" Crivello (d.1990) and Anthony Crivello (d.1998). And four sisters, Patricia DeMotta d.1972, Adelina Castro, Elizabeth Teyema, and Evelyn Uratani.

I'm just kinda "googling" my mom and dad's names to find family. And I stumbled upon this thread.

Dear Miss Rocha:

We might be cousins. I have not heard of this David Rocha, although my brother has this name and he lives in California, and has been married to the same woman for many decades. But we are all born in California.

You must get a copy of your father's birth certificate and work your way backwards to uncover your line of the Rocha family. It is a Portuguese name, no doubt, and it means "rock" or "rocky cliff." It does not originate from Latin, however, but from Hebrew. There were many Arab and Jewish settlers of Iberia, and many Greeks. In Brazil, they pronounce the name as if it had an "H" in front: "HaRosha" and this is the evidence of its Hebrew origin from the biblical phrase: "ha even harosha", which means "the keystone."

The birth certificate will give you concrete information on who your father's parents were, and where they were born. With their names, you can order death certificates, and then more of the family history will come to you.

The area of California where most Rocha families are found is Tulare County, and next is Fresno County. My family came from Fresno County from about 1930, although they had traveled around California until they settled there.

Hi, that's okay--I understand. I have been overwhelmed with the same. I keep saying, I won't take so many classes so that I don't go crazy, but I do it anyway. I'll be gladd when this semester is over. I'm only taking one summer class this year. I'm going to enjoy the summer.

Anyway, I'm anxious to learn what your mom has to say. she was born in 1871 in Julimes, Chihuahua, MX. Her mother was Felipa Marquez and her father was Anastacio Rocha. She had a brother, Cruz, and a sister, Martina. She married Manuel Mendes in Marfa, TX, and had two children. She latter married Jose Vergada Garcia and had nine more children.

I'm sure that your mom is too young to have ever known them, but perhaps family members on your side has some reoord.

My Rocha family is in Jackson County, Wade, Mississippi. My gggrandmother was Larecka Rebecca (de la Rocha) Rocha. Her family was from South Carolina and married Hannon John Jones from Louisiana. Married in Lawrence County, Monticello, Ms.

Her family is connected to Garcia and Delmas ..to Valentine Delmas b. 23 Dec 1789 New Orleans, Louisiana d. 1860 in
Jackson County, Pascagoula, Mississippi.

I believe she connected to Rocha Family in Texas or Mexico.

Thank you for replying. My grandmother, was Maria de Felipa Jesus Rocha. She was born in Julimes, Chihuahua, Mexico and lived most of her life in West Texas, as far as I can tell; However, She did also live for a while in New Mexico, California and possibly further south in Texas.

What part of south Texas is your branh of Rocha family, and what part of Mexico?

Raymond Ruiz Rocha 76, passed away Sept 13, 2007 at his home in Alta Loma, California surround by his family. Ray was born on August 7, 1931 in Belmond Township, Iowa to Agustin Rocha & Amada Ruiz. He was raised in Kansas City, MO, and in 1953 Ray and his first wife Theresa (Alvarez) and family moved to California. Ray spent his 35 year career as an Aircraft Fabrication Part Specialists for Lockheed Aircraft in Ontario retiring in 1997. He enjoyed working around the house, visiting with family and friends, watching his LA Dodgers and visiting the casinos. He was preceded in death by his precious baby girl Patricia Ann, his loving second wife Myrna {Sweat} who passed in 1989 and Siblings Agustin Rocha, Esperanza Jimenez, Santos Rocha, Luisa Rocha, Albert Rocha, Anthony Rocha and Peter Rocha. Ray is Survived by daughters Elizabeth Ann Becker of Ontario, CA; Linda Marie Pierce, and spouse Tim of N. Richland Hills, TX; Rochelle Rene Howell, and spouse Wesley of Alta Loma, CA. Step-daughters, Brenda Wood and spouse Adam, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Sharon Palmer of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Brother, Aurelio Rocha and spouse Carmen, Pomona, CA and sister Mary Pacheco and spouse Manual of Estancia, NM. Ray was Grandpa to; Krista Rae Rondomanski and spouse Stan, of Upland, CA; William Ray Rocha of Upland, CA; Morgan Elizabeth Pierce of N. Richland Hills, TX; Amy Wood of Upland, CA and Jeremy Wood, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Great-grandpa to; Ashley Nicole Rondomanski, Jake Taylor Rondomanski, William Ray Rocha II, Remi Elizabeth Rocha, and Zehna Maria Rocha and many other Nieces & Nephews. Ray was Dad, Pops, Grandpa, Pappa and Father figure to many; he was there unselfishly for anyone who needed his consult and guidance. We will miss him greatly this loving and honorable man. Visitation will be held at Stone Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 18, at 4:00pm. A funeral Mass will be held at St Peter & St Paul Church, 9135 Banyan, Alta Loma at 10:00am on September 19, 2007. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park, Ontario. Stone Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements, 909 982-1369.

Hello, My grandparents were Eugenia Rocha and Ramon Barcenas Arriaga - from San Luis Potosi then Nuevo Leon where my father Luciano was born. They ended up in San Antonio TX. I have come to a dead end. My grandfather had two brothers Benito and Petronilo. I know nothing else about my grandmother.

John Rocha
John V. Rocha, 79, of Galt, died March 10 at a local hospital. He was born Jan. 7, 1926, in the Azores and came to the United States in 1953.

He lived in Alvarado and San Rafael before moving to the Galt area in 1961.

Mr. Rocha owned a dairy on Pringle Avenue and was a member of St. Christopher's Catholic Church in Galt. He enjoyed trips to the coast and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Rose Rocha, of Galt; sons, John M., George and Frank Rocha, of Galt; daughter, Helen Mello, of Galt; seven siblings; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A rosary will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Christopher's Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted by Father Jerry Ryle at 11 a.m. Committal will follow at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.

Ben Salas Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

My grandmother Jesusita Rocha whose mother was Guadalupe Rocha - I have located Guadalupe Rocha on the 1930 census in Hidalgo (Donna) County Texas - Guadulupe never married the father of her 3 children - it is possible the 3 children (girls) had different fathers - Guadalupe used her maiden name "Rocha" and named her girls same - it has been said Guadalupes father to be Bernardo Rocha - is Guadalupe Rocha or Bernardo Rocha a sibling to your father/grandfather? Looking for anyone who wants a little information on Antonio Rocha and Maria L Rocha. They had several children according to the 1920 Census. I have pictures of the headstones of Antonio Rocha and Maria L Rocha. I have not found a connection to my Rocha's with these Rocha's but when I was in San Benito, Tx. I am also looking for my Rocha ancesters. I believe the originated in Portugal, but have not been able to track them as yet. My line wound up in Texas.

Try going to the local Family Resource Center in your area it will be located the the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The people there will help you get started in the right direction. You will need to find out who his parents were by obtaining a birth certificate for him and go from there. Good Luck.

I'm looking for my father and information on his family. His name is David Rocha, was born in NY and resided some in RI, FL and CA. He was married around 1981 and had a daughter, me feb. 83 in CA. I think that he also had brothers and sisters in CA. As far as I know his parents were from Portugal. However, I do not have their name available. I am flying blind here trying to get information, please help me.

Do you know where this family were born? My great grandmother was Maria Felipa de Jesus (born 1871 in Jilmes, Chihuahua, MX) and her father was Anastacio Rocha married to Felipa Rocha (may have been married before). They also had a son named Cruz and a daughter Martina.

I would appreciate your responce.
