DoD Identifies Army Casualty

The Department of Defense announced today the death of a soldier who was supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Pfc. Daniel J. Rivera, 22, of Rochester, N.Y., died Oct. 18 in Mosul, Iraq, of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas.

The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation.

Thanks for your reply. Your message regarding Eduardo Gonzalez Y Ribera cannot be the man I'm searching for since he was born in 1879. The man I am seeking is much younger, probably born between 1948 and 1952. I don't have any additional information, all I have is what was given in my original message. I know for certain that he served in the USAF and had a son born out of wedlock while stationed in Spain. He was aware of the child's birth but transferred to North Dakota and never saw his son again. I know the son and am trying to assist him in learning more about his father. Your interest is appreciated. Thanks for your effort.

Searching for Eduardo Rivera

I am seeking information on Eduardo Rivera, born in Puerto Rico, USA about 1949 or 1950. He was in the US Air Force in the 1970's and was stationed in Spain and transferred from there to Minot, North Dakota, USA. While in Spain he met Francisca Castro Borrego from Seville, Spain and she gave birth to Eduardo, Jr. in August 1977 in Madrid. My mother left Aguadilla PR and moved to NY; my sister, Maria Teresa Rivera and my little brother Benito Rivera (Junior) was adopted out. I ended up in foster care and never knew what became of my siblings.

Sofia Rivera is well and living in NY, The Bronx. I've always wondered what happened to my siblings and never forgot about them. That is why I am here. I am almost 100% sure that you are my niece and it is my mom you are looking for.

My name is Benny Gonzalez, my mother's name is Sofia Rivera. My mother had three children, 2 boys and 1 girl when she left PR. She later gave up her daughter, Maria Teresa Rivera, and her youngest son, Benito Rivera for adoption. I was seperated from my siblings and my mother. I ended up in foster care.

I, and my sister was born in Aguadilla, PR. I'm 51 years old now and I think my sister, Maria, should be around 48; as for my yougest brother he should be around 42 years old. I have not seen or heard from my brother and sister since they were adopted out. As for my mother, Sofia, she is currently living in NY and I speak to her often.

I'm looking for my siblings, Maria Teresa Rivera, and Benito Rivera. Their names may have been changed by their adopted parents.
