I am looking for info on my husband's lineage. We would like to find a connection with or info on the following family:
Jacob Rhyne II (1740-1825 married Maria Elizabeth Best in 1774.
Their son Thomas Rhyne (b. 1792) married Katie Rudisill.
Their son Solomon Rhyne (12/15/1817-2/5/1889) married in 1838 Katie Carpenter (6/19/1819-2/15/1895).
Their daughter Dora Ellen Rhyne (5/1851-1/18/1908) married (1875) William H. Henderson (5/8/1846-4/21/1906).
William was my husband's great-grandfather.
Would like to find connection with or info on Jacob Rhyne II & Maria Elizabeth Best family.

You might also try the National Rhyne Reunion at Dallas, North Carolina Aug. 3rd & 4th 2007. Friday Aug 3rd we will be at Holy Communion Lutheran church about 3 PM to swap info. & talk before going to the Thomas Rhyne home for a tour. We would like to see you at Dallas. Sat. Aug 4th we will meet at church at 9:30 foe meeting and catered lunch.

Thank you for the info! I will look up the website. Wish we could come to the reunion. We live in Garden City, SC, but my husband's parents live in Charlotte, NC which is near Dallas. But our daughter is getting married at Hiton Head on August 5th so we will be in Savannah that weekend. Do you have the reunion every year? If so, would be interested in coming next year if possible.

I tried the website and could not get it to open. I am unable to get to the reunion but it sounds like something I need to plan for in the future. I just got my copy of Our Kin by Hoffman from the Gaston Musuem. My family actually circles in there twice with the Rhyne/Bess/Best family and the Dameron clan that married the Chandlers. Where could I send info to connect with relatives from these lines? I am always looking for long lost cousins...Jody Mesa, AZ

The National Rhyne Reunion will be 1st & 2nd Aug. 2008 at the Holy Communion Lutheran Church Dallas, N. C. Friday friends & family meet at church at 4 PM at 6PM we will go to restarent. Saturday Reunion will start at 9:30 AM in Educational Building there will be a catered lunch at $8.00 each, meeting will end about 3PM.
