Adeline DeMars Prevost 1826/1898 Michigan

Does anyone have information about this woman? She married Jean Louis Prevost abt. 1846 either in Jefferson Co., NY or Detroit, MI had several children and moved to Bay Co., MI 1867. From the 1894 census it states that she was born in France. Where? came to the USA when she was 6. Who were her parents and siblings ? Mary

I see you have a Moyen in your tree. I am looking for information on my great maternal grandmother, Corinne Moyen Cusson. She was born in Montreal Canada about 1892. Her parents were Joseph Moyen and Elaine Dubois Moyen.I am looking to see if she had any brothers or sisters and so on. I have alot of the information on the Cusson side of the family, but none on the Moyen.

I am wondering if you can help me. I am looking for 2 brothers named George and Charlie Prevost. They lived, at one time around Sprague, Manitoba. They were born around 1900, and were French Canadian. They married 2 Catcheway girls from Waterhen Mb (or Skownan First Nation or Pine Creek First Nation) near Duck Bay, Camperville, Mb.

My grandfather was Johnny Catcheway son of Gaspard Katchiwe and Elise Boucher. Johnny's sister was Jacqueline sarah "ROSINE" Catcheway. She was born about 1916, and married Charlie Prevost around 1930-1931. She had a few children with him, with One boy and One girl living to adulthood. Then the mother Rosine Catcheway died in the mid 1930's, or maybe around 1936-1938. Charlie Prevost, we believe, might have died at sometime druing the 1950's, possibly at Winnipeg (he was last seen by my great grandfather Gaspard Katchiwe) at St Boniface Hospital with an illness.

Charlie's brother George Prevost married a Madeleine Catcheway, daughter of Francois Katchiwe and Catherine Sinclair. Madeleine died in 1933 at the age of 19.

We are searching for any descendants of these Prevost men's children.

Found out that Sarah Jacquline's nickname was not Rosa but ROSINE. So she was Sarah Jacqueline "ROSINE" Catcheway. She lived with her husband on the Pine Creek-Camperville Settlement in the 1930's. He, Charlie Prevost worked at the school, but they also tended to the cattle.

I have a record that Madeleine Prevost (nee Catcheway) died April 27, 1933 (age of 19 years). she was married to George Prevost.

I have a record that Josephine Prevost (probably named after her father's mother) died April 7, 1933, at the age of 3 hours at Pine Creek Settlement.

Armand Richard Prevost died July 18, 1933, age of 1 years at Camperville, Mb.

Joseph Charles Henri Prevost died April 26, 1935, at the age of 13 days at Pine Creek.

Our family remembers (my great grandfather Gaspard Catcheway) was in Hospital at St Boniface, during the 1950's. He recognized his son in law, Charlie Prevost, who was also in the hospital. Charlie said, My kids will come later during visitin hours to visit. A boy and a girl, all grown up came. Met their grandfather. So am assuming, that Charlie Prevost was sick, and probably died around this time. He did NOT die in 1994 (wrong information).

I am wondering if any Prevost family lived in Sprague, Manitoba which is a French town.

Apparently in the 1930's, 2 brothers Charles Prevost and George Prevost, French men, came to Skownan First Nation (aka Waterhen, Mb) and married 2 girls who were related to each other. Madeleine Catcheway, daughter of Francois Katchiwe and Catherine Sinclair. And Sarah Jacqueline "ROSA" Catcheway, daughter of Gaspard Catcheway and Elise Boucher.

I believe Charlie Prevost married Sarah Jacqueline "ROSA" Catcheway, and she lost her Treaty rights, as she was a Treaty Indian from Skownan First Nation. They had 2 kids, one boy and one girl born around 1931-1934. Charlie Prevost's wife died, leaving him a widower to raise his boy and girl. They may have lived in Winnipeg or around area.

We are wanting to find descendants of this family...

Well I was told that Charlie Prevost died in 1994-1995, but I could be wrong on that.

Do you have any info on the other brother George Prevost?

I know that apparently they came from Sprague, Manitoba which is a French village.

Do you have any info on kids born from these 2 men?

Got your memo today. I guess we are on the wrong track because I'm certain that Charles Prevost was French Canadian. He did marry an aboriginal girl and he did have a brother named George who also married an aboriginal girl. But he died we are quite sure before 1950. Unless he called his son Charles and he is the one who died 1993.
Charles would have been born in the early 1900's. If you have more info please contact me at my email address.

My uncle James Catcheway lives in Portage La Prairie, he is about 73. He remembers his family would always talk about Jacqueline Sarah "Rosa" Catcheway, and wonder what became of her, as she left the reserve at Skownan (formerly Waterhen First Nation) at a young age. She married Charlie Prevost and had 2 children, a boy and a girl. We dont know their names, then Jacqueline Sarah "Rosa" Catcheway died. Don't know where she is buried or anything. Her children, would be able to be registered as Status Indians of the Skownan Band, either as a 6(1) or a 6(2) because of Bill c-31.

We heard that Charlie Prevost died in the Pas, Manitoba...don't have dates, maybe around 1994 was what I was told. They were married about 1931.

His brother George married a Madeleine or a Catherine Catcheway, from same reserve too.

My name is Therese Lalonde. My mom was Rose-Anna Prevost.
She did have two brothers by the name of Charles and George and also seven more children I believe. Names Augustine,
Leontine, Delima, Joseph, I can't recall the others but this should be a start. My mom told me her two brothers, her sister Delima and their mom and dad (Emile and Josephine bathlon moved to St. Boniface Manitoba after she was married (1919) Delima came to visit in Ontario around 1950. The two brothers were supposedly dead but she had no news of what happened. The Prevost family were raised in and around Bearn, Quebec. My mom and dad moved to Ontario 1943. Am looking for the descendants of Charlie Prevost. He was originally from Sprague, Manitoba and he married my grandfather's sister named Sarah Angelique "Rosa" Catcheway. She was from Skownan First Nation in Mb and was of Ojibwe descent. She was born about 1917 and married in the early 1930's to Charles Prevost. They had 2 children, a boy and a girl born in the 1930's. Sara Angelique Catcheway died very soon after that. It is our family's desire to reunite with the descendants of our loved one's family. We believe they lived in Winnipeg for a time. That is all the info we have...except Charlie did have a brother GEORGE PREVOST that also married a cousin to Sarah Angelique Catcheway.

This is my fathers name whom i never knew. Apparently he passed away last year. But i also do know i have half siblings out there that i have never met. He was married to my mother Margaret Berthelette and was divorced shortly after my birth. I also do know that he was adopted by the Roberts family and was also in the army. I looked at all your other postings and something about the story is a little odd > I can not see a man who has spent the greatest part of his life in the USA , leaving to go farm in Canada . Canada was at war so he would have been eligable and would be listed on the National Resources Mobilization Act . I wonder if he just left your GM and she was too angry to tell anyone the truth . I have found a Paul of the right birthdate , born in Quebec and living Alberta which makes farming a possibility

Right 1902. I just remembered. I think it will be hard to find him unless you can make contact with someone who is related. Don't give up though, I made contact with relatives on Ancestry when I didn't think it would ever happen. There is also a Prevost website and you could send them an email and ask if they have any information. I cannot send you the link as it is not in my favourites anymore. Computer crash!

I'm looking for information on Paul Prevost, born about 1902 in Montreal, Canada. He married Peggy Cooper, probably in Nebraska sometime between 1925-1940. They had 3 children in Nebraska and 1 in Dallas, Texas between 1932-1942. He was here in the U.S. between 1932-1942 and then left his family to go back to Canada to homestead land and the family never heard from again.

We have found two children from this marriage - Francois (about 1757) and Nicholas (Christened Dec 5, 1770 in Basilique Notre-Dame).

Francois (age 22) married Catherin Write on Aug 9, 1779 in Montréal (Basilique Notre-Dame) - source curch records.

Do you have a source for the Prevost-Maillot marriage?

Parents of Joseph Vermet were Joseph Vermet Laforme & Angelique Drusson Robert they were married September 4, 1758 in Longueuil, Quebec. Joseph Sr. parents were Jean & Genevieve Gauthier, Jean parents were Antoine & Marie-Barbe Menard.

Looking for information on Frances BOSWORTH who married a man with surname PROVOST circa 1845. Possibly married in East Troy, Rensselaer, NY or in Canada.

Frances and her husband had at least 2 children, Emanuel b. 1844 and William b. 1857.

Emanuel PROVOST married Adeline LaROCK abt. 1867. Adeline was the daughter of Pierre LAROCQUE and Brigitte VINCENT. Emanuel and Adeline had 11 children, all born in Massachusetts.

My great grandfathers name was Alphonse Prevost. His fathers name was Gabrielle Prevost married to Marceline Dubois, They were from Boucherville Montreal Quebec, Canada. Alphonse Sr. entered the USA via the Hudson & Delaware railroad at Plattsburgh NY. Eventually Alphonse Sr. & Jr. moved to Rochester NY. I need information on Gabrielle and his wife --How did they get to Canada, where were they married, when did they die, etc.
Also would like information on what they did in Plattsburgh NY and what did they do between the time thay arrived in the USA till they settled in Rochester NY. I think that Alphonse senior is bureied in Plattsburgh NY. His son Alphonse is buried in Rochester NY.

In my own research I have often been able to go back many generations for people who married a Vermet/ Vermette. I assume that's true as well for those that are tracing the Prevost/ Provost line.

I'm trying to find the parents of Joseph Vermet dit laforme. He died before 1834 and is listed as a labourer. He married Josette/ Josephine /Josephte Prevost/Provost on 25 Jul 1796 at Ste Marguerite de Balirfindie, L'Acadie, QC

Jos. Prevost/Provost's mother was marie Catherine Vermette married Nov 1769 at Ste Vincent de Paul, Laval, Qc to Jean Baptiste Prevost, b 5 Mar 1745/46, St Vincent de Paul, Laval, QC

Marie Catherine's parents were Jacques Vermet and Marie Migneron.

Jean Baptiste Prevost's parents were Pierre Prevost, b. 16 Apr 1744 St Vincent de Paul, Laval and is listed as a voyaguer. He married Marie Richard, 21 Sep 1767, St Vincent de Paul. I can take both these lines back several generations.

Looks like there is a mix-up in te dates: Marie-Louise Leduc, daughter Of Francois-Xavier Leduc and Marie-Louise Panneton, married Aimé Provost, son of Pierre Prévost and Josephte Gariépy on July 24, 1848 in Repentigny, QC; This couple had 5 children:Adèle, who married Jean-Baptiste Marcotte on Nov. 22, 1869 in Notre-Dame, Montréal; Joseph, married Marie Monette on Sept. 23, 1872, same place; Philippe, married Rose Anna Byette on Feb 29, 1892 in St-Jacques, Montréal and 2 others Philippe, born in 1869 and Henri born 1871.
