Am looking for family related to my great-grandmother, Micaela Segarra y Perez (1880-1922). Her mother was Maria J. Perez y Cardosa. They are listed a sliving in Hormigueros, Puerto Rico in the 1920 census but I know they were from Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.

my husbands name is manuel antono perez(segarra),born 06-13-1919,uduado,p.r. his father victor manuel perez y segarra-born on ship from spain -mother -maria maniz y (caldu),born on the virgin inland--caldu started town of uduado,puerto rico,back in 1600 or 1700--had twin sister,born - 06-14-1919, america perez,left puerto rico sept. 1926..father had a brother that left with them, ralph perez,segarro...do not know where he went too.they were married around 1918, in puerto rico,mother died 1963,father 1970, twin sister in 1971..she married a jose hernandez
in phoenix ,arizona. so they could be some kin,he does know that one uncle was a policeman..movie was made about him in puerto rico...

My great-great-grandmother, Maria J. Perez y Cardosa, was 61 years old in the 1920 census of Hormigueros. Her father's names was Perez, her mother's name was Cardosa. She married a Segarra and I believe his name was either Juan or Jose. She had many children, one of which was my great-grandmother, Micaela Segarra. Micaela was born around the late 1880's and died shortly after the 1920 census. Your ancestor, America Perez may have been a sister or a cousin; however, I don't remember the name mentioned amoung the list of sisters and brothers. Are any of your Segarras from Cabo Rojo? from San German? from Mayagues? from Hormigueros?

Have you found any of your Segarras from official documents? If you have, which ones? I would most interested, because of the story of one of your ancestors being born on a ship. Please provide as much detail as possible so we may establish a link. Thankyou.
