Melchior Ott was born 12 Feb 1698-99 in Hasli-im-Grund, Oberhasli District, Canton Bern, Switzerland. He married Margaret Von Bergen on 23 Vov 1722 in said town and country. They departed Seitzerland in 1744 and their ship was captured by the Spanish. They apent the next two years in Havanna. Arrived in South Carolina in 1746. Was Granted 350 Acres on Pork Swamp on 08 Feb 1750/51. I would like to find all I can about the folks he desended from. We have information on decscendents of Melchior if interested.

Hi i'm trying to find informatiom on my great great grandfather Samuel Ott south carolina branchville area. He was married to margaret furtick ..I KNOW they had 1 child mary ann martha emma ott bloodworth she was my great grandmother i did find samuel on a census when he was 10 and again at 14 living near margaret but i have not been able to find anything after that. I do not belive that this is the samuel ott who moved to louisiana any help would be appreciated thanks Sandra Nix
