Pam - I am researching a Charles Ott b. in 1877. His parents were John E. Ott b 1834 and died 27 May 1918 and Mary (last name I had tentively written was Goning which could easily be Goehring). My Charles married Emma Caroline Kossieck (from Decatur, IL). They died and are buried in Quincy, IL. I don't know if there is a relationship, but perhaps Charles could be your ggrandfathers brother.

My great aunt Ruth did a great deal of research on both the Ott line (her maiden name) and the Corley line (her husband's line).
