I was born Sept. 30, 1973 in Tucson, Arizona. My parents are Henry and Lupe Olivas. My mother is Lupe Leon, her mother's maiden name is Carrazco-Cuevas. My grandfather name was Henry Olivas he was born in Tucson, Arizona and served in WWII (He died Dec. 29, 2001) My grandmother Olivas name was Socorro (Gomez-Ysaguirre) Olivas, she was born in Douglas, Arizona. My great-grandfather was Enrique Olivas born in What is called Tubac, Arizona, but at the time was merely a territory of the U.S.. His father was Juan de Olivas, born in the territory of the United States. In 1775, Juan de Olivas was the Spanish Lt. who occupied the presidio of Tubac and Tucson. Anyone's family matches that description, let me know. :)

Mr. Olivas, I think possibly we may be related. I am an Ysaguirre on my father's side and we have several Gomez cousins. I have quite a list of relatives. Maybe we could discuss this, let me know. Thank you.

I am sure we are related and I will tell you why. My grandmother Socorro Gomez's mother married an Ysaguirre and lived by the Tucson Communicty Center. Many of the Ysaguirre family members are Sanchez also.

Please let me know if you are of the same family.

By the way, some of the Gomez family were jockies; they were well known for a while until they ended up taking a different route that led them to the big house:)

I'm not sure about the Sanchez connection, but anything is possible. Do you have your Ysaguirre grandfather's name? Any additional information you could provide would be helpful. Thank you.

Now the Gomez connection sounds more plausible. The stories I was told as a child was that they were into horses. The jockey thing is new to me, but the jail thing is not. More than likely we're related then! ;) Write soon!
