Randi-Lynn Mizell  (View posts) Posted: 22 Oct 2000 3:20AM GMT
Hello,
My name is Randi-Lynn Mizell, I'm 16 years old, and i live in southern california. My grandfather, ROBERT Mizell who lived in in Cocoa Beach, FL, had a birthfather that left him at the age of two and NAPOLEAN WASHINGTON Mizell came and adopted my grandfather (after he had married my great-grandmother...who's name hath escaped me). Then my father STEVE Mizell was born and now we live in southern california. I never knew anything about the backround of Mizell, becuase frankly it didn't matter (in terms of doctors, cause we don't share the genes) My great-grandpa (Napolean WASHINGTON) owned Mizell MORTUARY...if this sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know..it would just be interesting for me.
I thank you all greatly
Randi-Lynn

I hope you see this reply since your email address has changed.

N. W. Mizell married twice, once to Frances "Frankie" Folsom Thomas and once to Martha VanFleet. Frankie is the sister of John Benjamin Thomas, who is my husband's grandfather. I don't know much about him including who his children are. I know his parents were Henry M. Mizell and Sarah Becks. He was known as "Uncle Po" by the Thomas children. I think the funeral home in West Palm Beach is called the Mizell-Faville Funeral Home today.

Most of the info I have about Napolean is from The east coast of Florida. vo. 3. pp. 100-102, Editor-author: Ellwood C. Nance. Associate editor and director of research: Helen Nance. Author: Nance, Ellwood C. (Ellwood Cecil), 1900- Published: Delray Beach, Fla., Southern pub. co., 1962. 3 v. illus. 29 cm. There is a full page portrait of him in this book.

I would be interested in knowing what you know about him, especially his wife (Frankie) and children. I also can put you in touch with some relatives who may know more about the Mizells.
