Yes I know the family. They descend from Edward McCain and Amanda McCain. There is another member of that family on the McCain List. Maybe if you join the list and post to it he might see it. At the present time we are conducting a DNA project to try to find out more on our lines.

The descendent from that line is one marker off my husband line. He descends from Ervin son of James. Edward and Ervin were brothers. But we have a brick wall when it comes to their father who is James. But we can't find James' family. So we hope the DNA will help put us on the right track.

Have hit a wall. Juat started and have no idea what I'm doing. I am trying to find info on a john H. (possibly "Hugh" Macdonald. Married sarah hodge and then married margaret hicklin. But i have no dates at all and don;t know if they are who i should be looking for. john would be father to francis Mcdonald b. nov. 1830 and he is father to hugh mcdonald b. 1778.
