The information that I have is that Prince William McCain was from Mississippi and fathered Alice McCain. I believe that he was black and he would have been born sometime between 1850 and 1870. Any information would be appreciated. He is my g-g-grandfather.

Senator John McCain's great grandfather owned 51 slaves in the Mississippi 1850 Slave Schedules.
They are Listed under Wm. A. McCain (Wiliiam Alexander).
His brother 2 years older lived next door and also held slaves.
The slaves are listed but only by sex, age, black or Mulatto.
