One of my ancestors--Peter MCCAIN/MCKAIN was born in Jefferson County, Ohio, in 1804. His father and mother were Peter MCKAIN/MACKEAN and Ann HALL who were married in Allegheny County, Maryland, 1792.

Peter and Ann moved their young family to Jackson County in southern Ohio shortly before 1814.

There were several other McCain/McKain families residing in the Jefferson County Seven Ranges area during the early 1800s. I am seeking to discover if there was any connection among them and my ancestors.

my greatgrandfather was peter e mccain he married frances oliver. His father was andrew jackson mccain and he married mary canter. and his fahter was peter mccain and he married julia coon. William (1825) was the son of Peter McCain (dob 1804) and Rachael Spriggs. William was a brother to sibling Peter McCain (1827) who married Julia Coon.I have a websit on MyFamily with "cousin" researchers working together on the line. There are some neat pictures. Thanks for easing my embarassment. I hope you do get to post your tree - that would be great. I have been off on a side tangent. I start on one line and then in the middle get off on another one. My most recent is Boice which is related to the McCain Line for me. I love genealogy as I do not get bored and being retired, I have time finally to do it. Claudia

OK, I know you guys posted 3 years ago but I am working on the same McCain line. I have it back to Peter McCain I. Have either of you gotten back past him? I have a large spread sideways but not up.
