Dear Andrea,
Re your last regarding the Zulu connection I have now proved that this connection DOES exist but you have to go back to Pirbright, Surrey in 1750s for the connection to the MARTER line from William MARTER the farmer who was born in 1751 in Woking, the son of James MARTER of Horsell born 1710. William was the younger brother of Richard MARTER/MARTYR born 1745 in Pirbright who had a son Richard MARTER (Reverand) whose youngest son was Richard James Combe MARTER of the Zulu Wars.
