Stephen A. Lore is listed as Stephen A. "Lowe" on the 1840 and 1850 census for Franklin Co., TN., There was a Daniel Lowe living close to Stephen in 1840. Stephen is listed as a wagonmaker on the 1850 census.
Stephen A. "LORE", wagonmaker, is listed on the 1860 census for Osage Co., MO. This is definitely the same man. The name was always spelled, "Lore" in Missouri. Does anyone have a connection between the Lores and the Lowes

My great grandmother was Josephine Lore. I have not found much more than that. Her father may have been Augustus Lore in Washington County Missouri

In researching the Lores in Missouri I have not found any connection between the Lores in Osage Co., MO. and the ones in Washington Co., MO. In my database I do have an Ara Josephine Lore (d/o Augustus b. ca. 1843 and wife, Dealpha, also b. ca 1843) on the 1880 Brenton Twp. Washington Co., MO census Dist. 168. This Ara Josephine Lore was b. ca 1876.

I will be glad to correspond with you about the Lores of Missouri. I have researched both lines; the Lores of Osage Co. and the Lores of Washington Co. I have not found a real connection between them There may be one and I have just not found it.

I did find a daughter of Augustus Lore and wife, Dealpha, on the 1880 Washington Co., MO census. This was in Brenton Twp Dist. 168. This daughter was listed as Ara J. age 4. Other material I have states that she was Ara (or Ava) Josephine.
