In the Persi index I found two articles about the Lore Family of Cumberland Co. NJ. They are chocked full of good information. They are from the Vineland Historical Magazine - Hotsprings NJ vol 21 no 1 and 2 and vol 31 vol 3-4. I am givine only the basics here, hoping that it will help someone connect.

Seth Lore 1711 - 1779 Brookhaven Co, Suffolk, Long Island NY

Richard Lore in 1731 refers to his son Seth Lore when transferring a deed.

In 1751 Seth Lore donates land for a Baptist church.

Seth sells land to Nthaniel and Reuben Lore in 1778.

Seth married Phebe Frazer and Abigail Whitecar.

1780 Nathaniel Lore administrator of estate of Seth Lore.

I compiled a 482 pg book "The Lores of Cumberland County, New Jersey" in 1996. It's an extensive study of the descendants of Hezekiah & Seth Lore sons of Richard Lore of Southold, LI. Richard Lore was the son of John Lory who migrated from England to Saybrook Colony, Ct & settled in Southold, LI. I'm descendant of the people you mention in your post. William & Elenor Forgison Lore only had three children, Rosel, Gideon & Elizabeth. It's possible but I'm not aware of any Lores from Cumberland Co NJ that were in PA in 1815-1850. Testing by the Lore DNA project (Roberta Estes is the administrator) showed the Lores of Cumberland Co & her Lores from PA aren't related.

There are evidently three distinct branches of the family in
Northumberland County, the posterity of Daniel, Paul and George Lahr, who according to tradition were related, though how in not quite certain. Daniel and George were probably 1st cousins, and Paul appears was the brother of Daniel, but this is not corroborated.

The first permanent settler arrived in Jordan Township (Lycoming County, PA) in 1812. William LORE cleared a parcel of land and established a homestead, others soon followed his footsteps.

The will of William Lore of Fairfield Township, Cumberland Co., NJ was written Feb. 7, 1772 & proved May 26, 1772. He names wife Elenor & children, Rosil, Gideon & Elizabeth. I have no knowledge of the William Lore b. Apr. 11, 1773 listed from the site you found or how the link to William Lore of Fairfield, NJ was made. William Lore of Fairfield died between Feb 7, 1772 & May 26, 1772 & the other William Lore was born Apr. 11, 1773, it apears to me impossible for the William Lore of Fairfield who died before May 26, 1772 to be the father of William Lore born Apr. 11, 1773. The birth & death dates also rule out the possibility of a posthumous birth. I have other documentation on the family of William & Elener Lore & there is no mention of a son William Lore. I hope this will be of some help to you. If there is any other information you need on the Lores of Cumberland Co., NJ, please contact me.

I have a Lore research file sent to me from Roberta Estes that she compiled on Lores in PA. There are some William Lores mentioned in it. I didn't see one born 1773. I can send it to you if you want to review it. I will need your e-mail address. I only know of other Lores in Canada who go by the name Loree but are related to the Cumberland Co., NJ Lores & have the same ancestor John Lory b. 1612 of Cornwall, England, Saybrook Colony, CT & Southold, LII. N.Y.
Don't know of any Lores in PA in the 1700's.
