DNA Testing Results

Lore family members,

We have now had a second person do the DNA test. That person was a Lory, and they do not match the one Lore that has participated.

I would like to encourage anyone from the NJ, NY or Canadian families to test. The one Lore we have was born someplace in Canada, and moved to Ny and then to Pa in the 1830s. He married a Hill in Vermont, so kind of worked his way South. I cannot break through this brick wall, and until other Lore's test, we won't know who he might be related to. Other Lore families won't know if they are connected or not either.

The testing company where the surname project resides is giving gift certificates for some kinds of testing that must be redeemed between now and the end of December. If you are interested, please let me know. This would also make a wonderful gift for someone whose DNA would benefit your genealogy.

My 2X great=grandmother is Adelaide Hugg Lore, and she and her family were from Cumberland Co., NJ. They are on my mother's side. I am female and would like to have my mtDNA tested. Those gift certificates still available?

The certificates ended Dec 31st, but the testing is still available at a good price if you join a project to get the project discounts. You're welcome ot join the Lore project.
