David you have to give a little more information for anyone to help you. Do you know where your Lofgren family came from? When they came through Ellis Island? When they got to Chicago? The name Lofgren can be Swedish, or I have seen it in Finnish records. Do you have any old family records or rumors? Grandpa's or Grandma's names etc. The posting won't work well if the only information you give is current information like your immediate family, although we are glad to know about your family.

Lofgren is a Swedish name which means "Leaf of the Branch." Lof is Leaf, gren is branch. The spelling of Lofgren is now spelled Lovgren is Swedish. My great grandfather, Oscar Lofgren, is from Sweden. He changed his name to Logan in the late 1890's. We aren't related, but I thought this would help you. Mike
