I'm the daughter of Walter Lofgren who came
to the United States July 5, 1923. He was born
in Sweden October 30, 1904. I'm looking for the
family of Knute Lofgren who was his brother.
Please respond if you have any information.
Thank you,

Doriney Lofgren Seagers

My grandmother Katherine Howse married an Oscar Lofgren. Oscar was a Swedish immigrant, one of 17 siblings, many of whom immigrated to Montana early this century.

its very possible that knute lofgren is my husbands grandfather. The immigration date is about right and so is the age that you gave.

My g grandfather was Oscar Johnson. Prior to emmigration his last name was Lofgren. His Father's name was Johann. they were from NederKalix, Sweden. I believe one of his sisters name was Matilda and a brother might have been Johann. oscar emmigrated to the US about 1875 and lived in Chicago.

To CC,
Knute would have been my Uncle, I would like to trade information with you. If he was your husbands grandfather, I would like to know if I have any family members who are descendents of Knute. His brothers (my father) name was Nils Walter Lofgren and his
older sister was Svea Englund. Sorry for the delayed reply we have been away.

Hi there Suanne! I may be able to help you a little. I will try to contact you directly [but wonder if the 1999 address will still work!]. Hopefully you will at least get this one so you can try me here. Joanne

Kevin...I'm stanley davis (birthname melvin lofgren jr.) I have been trying to reach you. I'm pretty sure I am your uncle. I grew up in wichita...birthfather was melvin lofgren sr. I believe I have located him (soc.sec. match) in mesquite, texas. I live in Las Vegas now (since'98)
email adavis11@mindspring.com or phone (702) 395-7902
I have a woman who tracks down folks (relatives long missing) just to help them...she's great and charges me nothing. She's been working on this for a long time. I got your snailmail address in Berryville, AR and was going to send you a letter. I hope that you check the posts--seems like your address has changed from the highway 143 into town. I don't have your email and your phone is unlisted. Is Katrinka Lofgren Ivie your sister? If so, does she work as a rehab. specialist in Wichita? I sent an email to the place where she works, but, once again, have no phone or email for her. I tracked down Melvin Sr. with a lot of cross-checking and false leads and am pretty sure I'm right. I'll fill you in further when we talk or email. Most of these "services" charge fees, which is beyond cruel. Stephen Quintos Lofgren would be my half-brother, since I had a different birthmother in Long Beach, CA. After I left Wichita, I moved to NYC, then to the Netherlands for 4 1/2 years (my wife, Annelies, is Dutch), then Estes Park CO from '78-'98, then Las Vegas. I'm a musician and music therapist, songwriter and recording artist and have listings on Facebook and Linkidin (sp?).
Regards, Stan (melvin lofgren jr.) davis
