Looking for any information on Paul L. Landry born 1859 in Louisiana. The family history states they where from Iberia.
He married Alice Lasalle born 1871 in Louisiana she may have been the child of Aldice Judice Female born 1847 listed in 1880 census also if anyone has information on these people it would be helpful.

or Dios. of Baton Rouge

I did find in the 1870 an Alice married to a Judice with two children that would have had to die before 1880.

There are two Alcides born in 1752-1754.

Two posibilities:
Alice is an orphan taken in by Alcide. A little young to be a servant.

Could the census taker have missed her mother who was the 43 year old housekeeper & combined two lines?

Sorry Pere Hebert SW LA is the Rev. Donald J Hebert Southwest Louisiana Records. It is in both paper books and the first 30 vols. are on a searchable CD (to about 1900)

Hubert Landry & Pelagie BOUDREAUX are Paulin parents.

These are French church records and we use the mothers maiden name.

I could not find his parents marriage. I will try again tomorrow.

Adoliska ALLEMAND is the only parent listed for Alice.

Like all records these are only as good as the informant. Who told the priest? Was her mother dead & for how long?

I did the First batch and northern cousin Andre Landry did the second.

About 1870 the family moved from South LA to Southwest LA

I think his 11, 12, 13 may be one person. They got their License/posted their bond in 1866 but did not marry until the next year.

We need to look at the possibility number 2 & 14 are the same. Delayed marriage because of war?
