Hi Paul,

That would be great. The information you forwarded has been a huge help but I am not yet through all the entries.

The family oral history has Alice and some of the children leaving LA in a covered wagon and coming to Dallas, TX. Do not know where Paul Landry was at the time or the other kids.
Some of the children settled in Dallas and some in Houston. Paul is listed in the 1930 census with one son in East Texas.
No trace of Alice any place after LA.

Hi

On Acadian we have Alice's mother Adeleska/Aliska Alleman tree.

Her Father was of Canary Island descent & her mother was Acadian. She has several Landry lines.

For the details:

Thank you for the treasure trove of information. I am sorting through & entering the data.

I did find the Cananary Islanders of Louisiana at the library and look forward to sitting down and reading it.

Hi Paul,

I saw your thread regarding Alice's father - yes I like a puzzle also. It seems to be a good theory to me. It is really quite amazing how much information is left behind for people to piece together.

Thanks again

Hi Paul

I have not figured out how to reply on the other board but following your though pattern on Alice's father I went to the library and this is what I found - the time line is not quite right take a look and let me know your thoughts.

SW Louisiana - Rev Hebert Vol 17
Same page as marriage Alice Lasalle to Paulin Landry

Pierre Lasalle m. Lyska Allemand succ. 29 March 1886 (SM CT HSE. Succ 2627)

Pierre Lasalle widr of Anaise Blanchet m. 5 Sept 1885 Lisca Alleman widow of Alcee Judice (NI CH v. 3 p 225)

This does not match the time line with the 1880 census Judice (Mrs?) & Lasalle poses a question.

I have not had time to dig around to see if there is anything on Adolisca/Lisca same person or dif? with Judice or Lasalle maybe something somewhere.

Thanks

It is an interesting puzzle. One person working on it said the story that ties all the pieces together would make a (Cajun Romance) Novel.

To add anything to the discussion on the acadian list please send it to me direct at pleblan@aim.com OR send an email to acadian@rootsweb.com & I will let any non-member "on subject" post through.

PS One piece to make it more confusing. Alice & Paulin are living on Lassalle street in a townhouse that Pierre Lassalle built for Alice's mother.
