My Grandmother's name was Grace Knorr (1924-1992)and her father's name was Edwin John Henry Knorr (1896-1960) and mother's name was Marie Albright (1897-1954). Edwin's parents' names were William (Wilhelm) Knorr and Elizabeth Meinsohn. William came to St. Louis as a boy from Germany (Bavaria I think, I'm not sure). Any info about William Knorr would b greatly appreciated thanx.

Hello, I haven't used this program in a really long time, and it was a surprise when ur query popped up in my e-mail list. I believe the Wilhelm Knorr u r looking for is my maternal great-grandfather because all the info u have matches my info from my great-aunt who is Wilhelm's granddaughter. I honestly don't really know anything else about Wilhelm other than he was a silversmith in St. Louis and his wife's name was Elizabeth Meinsohn. How are u related to this man? I would greatly appreciate it if u respond. I have some more info if u want. Thanks.

Aaron, I tried to send you an update of the St. Louis Delbruegge lineage that I had sent earlier, but the mail was returned, so I expect that your family has moved.

If you wish please e-mail me at above and I can forward the material. Since we talked several years ago, I have been successful in confirming that Heinrich Wilhelm Delbruegge was born in Neuenkircken, Hannover

Aaron, I understand you are related to Herman Delbruegge. My grandfather was Henry B. Dellbringge. He changed it around 1918 from the original Delbruegge or Dellbruegge. Henry's father was also named Henry and his mother was Elizabeth Haxel. The Dellbringges MAY be related to the Delbruegges out Hwy 30 in High Ridge. My grandmother was Louisa Waelke. Does any of this sound familiar to you?

Hello, to answer ur question, yes we r related. Herman Delbruegge was my great-grandfather. I looked into my family tree book and it seems that ur great-grandfather Henry Delbringge or as he was born as August Heinrich Dellbruegge and my g-g-grandfather Heinrich Wilhelm Delbruegge were brothers. So looks like we r cousins. I think the reason why ur grandfather changed the spelling of the name is the way they pronounced it. My father's family still pronounce "Delbruegge" as "Delbrigge" as opposed to other people who say "Delbroogge". Anyway would u like more information abt the link between our families? And also how did u figure out that we might b related? Thanx.

Aaron - It is good to get your response. Beyond my grandfather Heinrich Barney Dellbringge (Delbruegge) b.1878 - d.1957 my information is very limited. I would be very grateful if you could shed some light on my (our) ancestors. I do believe that our Delbruegge came to the USA in the 19th century from Hanover. I have tried to research my lineage but the different spellings of my name have made it impossible. Any help from you would be appreciated. As you give me information I will probably have questions. I look forward to your response.
