Knorr

Elaine Hackbarth Kraft  (View posts) Posted: 20 Apr 1999 6:00PM GMT
My great-grandfather, Wilhelm Frantz Hackbarth, born 17 Oct 1840 in Pomerania (now a part of Poland) was married to Wilhelmine Knorr. Her parents were Heinrich Knorr and Luise Luedke, but beyond that, I haven't a clue about the Knorr family. Wilhelmine and Wilhelm emigrated in 1896 from Semmerow, Kr. Kolberg, with their three youngest children: Friedbert, Theodore, and Minnie. They settled in Milwaukee, WI, where the oldest son, Albert, was living with his wife Emily and son Otto. Later two married daughters, Mathilde Ehmke and Helene Pagel, emigrated in 1902 with their husbands and ten children between them. I would appreciate any contacts via e-mail regarding Hackbarth or Knorr. I believe Wilhelmine Knorr Hackbarth was also from Kreis Kolberg in Pomerania. Wilhelmine Knorr was born 31 Aug 1838.

Hi Elaine,
My mother's maiden name was Knorr. I can trace this line to the 1870's in St. Louis. Maybe this is a help

Knorr = Narre?

Is there any way that the spelling was changed to Narre? My GGrandfather's name was Joseph Narre.

I have him living in St. Louis beginning in the 1890's. There was only one family named Narre in St. Louis. He may have been born in Belleville, IL. His mother's name was Susan or Suzanne. I don't know what her maiden name was.

Knorr/Narre?

There's a couple dozen of us researching this area. Hoping someone can set up a board where we can share research ideas. I tried, but it didn't take. My names are Barz Selinger for starters. Tricia M.

My mothers sister was Cynthia Crecelius. She married Walter Knorr. I don't know where my Uncle Walter was from. He passed away many years ago. I am only related to the name by marriage.
