Re: Kipka or Kipke??
Hi!
My Mother was brought up in Foley, Gilman Twp, Benton Co., MN. Her sister, Helen Ann Strait, married Maurice John Kipke in the early 1950s in Anchorage Alaska.
Maurice was born in Hill City, MN Aug 6, 1915 and he was the eldest child of Peter Joseph Kipka (1884-1963) and Margaret Josephine Tkaczk. Later, the family settled in Foley, MN and raised most of the rest of their children there. That's where Helen Strait and Maurice Kipke met.
Peter Joseph Kipka's parents were Anthony Kipka (1863-1956) and Catharina Jendro (1861-1931).
Anthony's parents were Josef Kipka (1828-1901) and Franciszka Leish (1831-1918).
FYI...In the past few years I have been conducting Kipka family research for my cousin, Carl, (the only child of Maurice and Helen Kipke)just for fun. Our Kipka information may just eclipse one another, but if I can help in any way, please let me know at jeaniemoll@comcast.net. I am located in Minnesota. It would be fun to share. ~ Jeanie
