RE:Payson

Went to the South Carolina Room at CPL today to check on the Payson family.

Is a very unusual name. Found three Payson infant who had died between 1850 and 1880. The parent's names were not included.

On Ancestry, have checked under a number of possible misspellings (Fayson, Bayson, Peyson, Pason, Peson, ect.)

Have been able to find one James Peson outside of Charleston and Berkley counties, about an hour's drive from the city in the appropriate time frame.

In the older Charleston City Directories, there simply are no Payson families listed.

Let us know if you find any new leads.

Ok, thanks for the info and lookup on the Payson name, it is a very hard name to find, I did get in contact with the descendant of the other Payson, but they are in the same boat as I am.

If you guys would like any info on the Sanders Family, I can provide the info that I have, I assume Helen_Baxley is the person you're helping, I would love to have any info she's willing to share on my Sanders family and possibly Hawkins, if she has any.

Thanks.

Was able to get in touch with Patrick Sanders, son of Harry
Sanders and he has given me permission to share his email address with you. Patrick and I have been friends for about ten years. I offered to help him get started with his family history and setting it up online.

He and his family are quite excited about all they have learned about the family recently. He has the names of churches and cemeteries in Charleston and plans to follow through confirming information we have gathered with the churches and funeral directors here.

The information he puts together will be shared with The Avery Center at the College of Charleston, the Charleston County Public Library, and Salt Lake City and Afrigeneas.

His Email address is: peezoa@bellsouth.net.

He looks forward to hearing from you. So many members of the family have contacted Patrick recently to share information since his family history research began.

His mother, Patricia Sanders, is one of the oldest members of the family now, and she has a wealth of information tucked away in her memory. She is a stellar resource!

Good luck with your research. If you will send me your email address, I will invite you to participate in the family tree we have set up online, so that you can add your branches of the family and correct any misinformation that you find. Patrick's phone number is 843 437 9013. My number is 843 864 1900.

We are all so delighted to have heard from you.

Hey Mr. Roonie,

Can you help me find more info on Della Gibbes/Dulle Gilbo (b. abt. 1891 in S.C.) and Thomas Smith (b. abt. 1913 in S.C.)

Della/Dulle is listed as Thomas Sr.'s "niece" in 1910 Ward 8 Charleston, S.C.

Thomas is listed as Thomas' "nephew" in 1920 Ward 10 Charleston, S.C.

Thanks

Hello Sarah,

We are looking for somebody to do some research for us in the Minsk Archives. Can you tell me how to contact the research group that you used, and how costly it was? Any information you can provide would be much appreciated.

Ken
