Hi, Kim. We must somehow be related. Henry A. Johnson was my grandfather. Nell, or Nellie,
Jones, first married him, and the result was my mother, Anne
Missouri Johnson. Henry died, and
Nell married
Homer Johnson. They had three children, Jean, Alexander, and John
Homer Johnson. Of the four kids, only John is alive. He lives with his wife in Hazlehurst,
GA, and my wife and I visted them a year ago this past September.
John still owns
Homer Johnson's farm, and his own, in Long
Pond. At one point,
Homer moved his family to Mount Vernon,
GA, and they lived there until both
Homer and
Nell died. She pre-deceased him.
My mother, Anne
Missouri Johnson, married Arthur
Schloss, who was a soldier. They remained married until my father, Arthur, passed away in April, 1974. My mother, Anne, passed away on August 6, 2006.'
It is interesting to consider that you and I apparently have the same grandparents.
For what it's worth, I lived on the farm in Long
Pond as a very young boy, and in the house on Mt. Vernon also. I was born in Vidalia,
GA
